Comments: Just received this shoe and tested on a 10-mile asphalt circuit to break in. I was looking for a light, comfortable trainer. I'm pretty impressed. A smoother ride than I expected, a great fit (for me) and light like a racer.

Comments: This is a follow up to my earlier review. I have really enjoyed running in this shoe! However if there is a "flaw" it is that the absence of any reinforcing pieces like those found in traditional stability shoes, combined with a somewhat soft midsole, results in significantly reduced durability. I'm only 145 lbs but very tough on midsoles. The Electro33 midsole broke down for me in very much the same way as a racing shoe and I got many fewer miles out of these compared to traditional shoes. Still happy I tried these out and had some great runs in them. But my budget will be better off sticking with traditional stability shoes. Note that I still have the Super J33 which has a firmer midsole and is proving to be more durable for me than the Electro33, and I will probably now use the Super J for some of the runs I used to do in the Electro.

Comments: After a having a great experience with the Super J33 as a tempo shoe, I was tempted to try a beefier version as a long run distance shoe. The Electro33 is exactly that. It combines the smooth, flexible and responsive ride of the Super J with more cushioning and comfort. The Electro is noticeably freer than other stability shoes, but the medial support provides enough resistance to keep things in check. As a reference, I'm 5'9" and 145 lbs with a moderate amount of overpronation, and have to use shoes with a "moderate support" rating for daily distance and long runs to stay injury-free. The Electro might not be enough shoe to use daily for heavier runners or ones with more excessive overpronation. But I find it has superb balance for my needs: just enough support and stability, just enough cushion, and just enough structure so that the shoe doesn't get in the way but still provides the right amount of protection. I'm looking forward in the next few months to see if the Electro can be come my main distance shoe.
