The Brooks Glycerin 12 gets a superb improvement with the new Super DNA midsole. It is hard to up the comfort on the Glycerin, but with 25% more cushioning than the BioMoGo midsole of previous models, this upgrade does the trick. Add in the supremely comfortable upper and every element of this shoe is meant to make you feel like you are running on a cloud.

Customer Reviews

Comments: I have always had problems with my second toe (Morton's Toe) striking the front of my shoe and causing the nail to get injured - no matter the size, toe box, etc. I finally found the solution in Brooks' Glycerin 12 - if you have this issue, don't think twice.

Comments: I ran my second pair of Glycerin 12's in the 2015 Boston Marathon in the cold, rain and wind to a marathon personal best without so much as a hot spot anywhere on my feet. Thank you Brooks for developing the perfect running shoe for me. All of my other premium running shoes will now only see duty pushing the lawnmower!

Comments: I have had three pairs of the Glycerin 11s and had no problems. Much like another reviewer I developed a blister behind the toe. The shoe also wore down to the base on the left inside after 3 months. Submitted to Brooks for review and they indicated it was not a defect but running style but offered to replace. If you have had the 11s, I would try these on at the store first.

Comments: I've had multiple pairs of Brooks 11's and loved them. I had zero blisters or other foot problems with them. That's why I kept going back. I was concerned when I found out Brooks upgraded to the 12's. After just a few runs in the 12's I developed a blister just behind the big toe on the inside of my left foot. It took about 100 miles of wear before the spot got where it wouldn't bother my foot anymore. I have 200 miles on them now and they are working well. I'm 180lbs and appreciate the amount of cushioning these shoes provide. I hope I can get as many miles with these as I did with the 11's.

Comments: I read one review about these that said they are like running in cowboy boots....that pretty much sums it up. They are not soft at all. They are very hard. My lower back hurts after running in these. It's really too bad because the upper is very comfortable. Brooks needs to ditch this super DNA thing and go back the the gel inserts. The Glycerin 9 & 10 were much better. Don't belive the hype that these are the softest Glycerin yet. They may measure that way in the lab, but in the real world they are HARD!

Comments: I had a previous version of this shoe and really liked it. I am a bigger runner - 205 lbs but while training I do 30+ miles a week. This version of the shoe I believe has a harder sole and does not have as much displacement in the heal on contact. When using these shoes on long runs the balls of my feet and lower back would hurt. I did not have the same issue with the previous versions. I believe brooks must of modified the design to either reduce production costs or increase the shoe life.

Comments: Having worn previous versions, I had great hope. Unfortunately, no luck. These run much narrower than the previous iteration (even in the 2E width that typically works for me with Brooks) and about a 1/2 size longer. Won't work for me, so back to the store they go.
