The Inov-8 X-Talon 212 Standard is a performance soft ground trail running shoe designed for a neutral foot motion.

The championships won in the Inov-8 X-Talon 212 need not be for the narrow footed any more. A championship tested trail shoe for the serious trail runner, ideal for loose rock, grass, mixed terrain or mud. Aggressive sticky rubber tread provides outstanding grip and the low-profile midsole allows for fast, stable running, while a water resistant upper protects you from the elements. A great choice for cross country, short trail runs or X-mountain racers.

Sizing Note: Men's sizes only. Women should subtract 1.5 sizes from their women's shoe size. Example: Women's 8 equals size 6.5 for this shoe.

Customer Reviews

Comments: I am a 9.5 in most of shoes and in the X-Talon 212 as well. One of the most versatile trail shoes. Good for mud (9/10), uphill running (9.5/10) (some worldclass runners use the X-Talon 190 for vertical races), does quite good on wet rocks (7.5/10 or 8/10) and it also performs well on distances up to the marathon (unlike the 190 or the Anaconda) and has a very secure grip in downhills (unlike the less protected 190). Besides, it does not matter if you have to do one or two miles on the road where these still go fast. And they also perform well in snow. You can use them on snow trails if it does not get too icy. But on really ice trails you would need to use shoes like the Icebugs or the Oroc etc. The only thing which is causing problems to this shoe is wet wood, but I guess on wet wood you would need spikes anyway to feel secure.

Comments: FIrst trail running shoe, so my feedback is based off of others opinions and my experience. Just did a Spartan Race and it obviously had a lot of different variables and mostly wet. The X-Talon did amazing. Even better than I had expected in several ways. Very grippy in any terrain and when completely submerged and soaked it does not become loose, heavy, uncomfortable. It drys out very quick and does not cause the foot to overheat. All positive feedback besides one thing. The shoes toe bpx is not very roomy so it was noticeable, but not enough to cause blisters. The race was 14+ miles and blister free. I reccomend this shoe.

Comments: I ordered my usual size (11.5) they are way to short. I'll try for a 12 but I'm thinking a 12.5 will fit better. On the plus side. These are almost wide enough, if the only made a wide size...

Comments: I ordered a half size up (9.5) from my current pair of X-Talons (size 9.0) but the new 9.5 look about a half size smaller than the size 9.0. I'll need to sen them back and order a 10.0. Uggh
