Customer Reviews

Comments: NOT the same as the 1010V2----the only terrain running shoe that was PERFECT for my feet.  Bring 'em back!
From: Nate, Lilburn, GA. January 25th 2017

Comments: New Balance needs to bring back the 1010v2!!!
From: Anonymous. October 12th 2016

Comments: I don't understand the other reviews. I've logged a lot of miles in this shoe and find it to be one of the most comfortable low profile shoes i've worn. It is one of the first shoes i reach for when i want a fast, feel good trail run.  No hot spots, no bio-mechanical pushes, just a very good neutral, low profile shoe.  I'd easily buy again..

Comments: After being leaders in the minimalist shoe market for years, it's disappointing to see that New Balance has, yet again, taken a step back. I was a huge fan of the original MT10 and MT00. I will be trolling eBay for the old versions and stop buying NB until they get back on track.
From: Teddy, Brooklyn, NY, USA. May 2nd 2016

Comments: disaster of a shoe.. at least if you want anything like the first 3 awesome versions. In no way is there a resemblance. This shoe is higher off the ground, tight instead of open toe box, loose heel, the fit is completely different and uncomfortable, shoe is more stiff. Why not just keep the previous versions and make this one a different trail shoe? A shoe salesmen on another site said the previous shoe (all 3 versions) was one of the all time best selling running shoes in history and he, like many are utterly dumbfounded why NB would cancel it for whatever this thing is. Its a Nike kind of move.
From:  Tom, CO, USA. April 19th 2016

Comments: Should be a different model. After staying with the previous 3 versions, this feels like a whole different shoe. I do like the new toe box without the strap going across and the tread is an improvement. Being a minimalist fan this doesn't feel like a minimalist shoe. This may be a benefit for longer distances/ hard pack but I enjoyed the earlier versions for the diversity of training applications. I am not necessarily regretting this purchase as it will come in handy for races but for my training shoe I will be looking to other brands. The v1/v2 transition to v3/v4 is disappointing.
From: Nick, OR, USA. April 11th 2016

Comments: I never ran in any of the previous versions of this shoe, so I can't give any feedback on how it compares. I have, however, been trying to find a replacement for the MT110 (first version - my favorite shoe) -- and the MT10v4 is about as close as it gets. Fit is the same size-wise (I'm a 9 in many shoes, but def. a 9.5 in this one), the forefoot is securely locked down, the heel a tad looser. The grip is about the same (haven't run in slippery conditions yet though - the MT110 was atrocious on wet rocks), the shoe runs smoother on tarmac and the fabric upper is comfortable and should last a lot longer than the MT110's plastic. So far I'm impressed.

Comments: Not that this is a bad shoe but it is so different from the prior versions it should simply have been offered as a different model all together. Pro's : still light, improved tread Con's: does not fit the same AT ALL as the first 3 versions, is far more stiff, higher off the ground, toe box is way smaller - in fact it has gone from roomy to cramped, and its binding across the top of the foot near the ankle. I say this as someone with narrow feet even. Conclusion. They should have kept the original and simply made this another option. Its hardly even a minimalist shoe any more.. more of a conventional trail shoe. Very sad. NM F__ed up.
