Lightweight yet protective, the Mizuno Wave Precision 13 features a traditional design that is suitable for everything from daily training to distance racing.
- New Upper Material: A new open mesh upper offers increased pliability and breathability for an accommodating feel.
- Lower Heel Collar: The reduced height of the heel collar allows for a greater range of motion as well as reduced irritations on the ankle and Achilles.
Our testers loved the cushioning and smooth feel offered by the Precision 13’s traditional platform design. A Wave plate in the heel disperses impact from the initial heel strike, delivering high-mileage protection comparable to heavier, more traditional daily trainers. Meanwhile, the springy forefoot injects liveliness into the stride for an energetic toe-off when picking up the speed.
The upper on the Precision 13 delivers breathability and a forgiving fit for long-lasting comfort. Our testers reported the fit to be narrower in the forefoot than many everyday trainers, giving it a performance-oriented feel. Those with a higher volume foot should not fret, however, as the pliable mesh upper is accommodating and conforms to the profile of the foot.
With the growing market of low profile, lightweight trainers, the Precision stands out as a lighter model retaining a traditional platform with excellent cushioning and ground protection. Runners looking for a bit more underfoot in a race-ready, lightweight trainer will appreciate the feel of the Precision 13.
This shoe is perfect for my half-marathon training. It has the cushioning I need for everyday use, but its light weight is great for going fast, too.
I normally run in Mizuno’s Rider 15. In comparison, the Precision 13 is similar but has a more streamlined fit and a racy feel. Anyone who runs in the Rider and wants an uptempo alternative should consider the Precision.
This shoe has a nice, performance oriented feel. The heel to toe drop almost seems lower than it really is.
