Customer Reviews

Comments: This shoe is a fine response to the likes of Inov-8 in terms of raw grip, but with a few issues that stand out.
-The shoe runs a full size too long (half a size based on the mondo size on the tongue), I typically wear a US-M 8/EU 40.5/mondo 25.5. In this shoe a US 8 was a full size too big, and a US 7.5 was still too big.
-The ankle is very low. This shoe allows for climbing shoe worthy ankle articulation, but as a result the back of the shoe was applying painful pressure onto the bottom of my Achilles. I suspect this might go away after a week or so, since I've had this problem in Inov-8's and there the ankle run lasted a week.
-The outsole lugs are skinny and flexible. This causes the shoe to move about like a brush over solid surfaces. In mud, grass, or snow, I bet the flexible lugs will retain a better bite than more rigid ones.

Overall, in spite of the above complaints, I think this is a pretty good shoe for technical forrested terrain where the primary surface is mud or vegetation, and possibly snow. I wouldn't use this shoe for above-tree line areas where the surface is equal parts slickrock and talus.
Finally, the shoe laces on this shoe are the best I've seen in years. They can be tied ones and will not lose tension all day.
