CUSHIONING

  • To keep weight down, this shoe contains no additional cushioning technologies.
MIDSOLE
  • Compression Molded EVA is a full length, industry standard foam designed for lightweight durability.
UPPER
  • Open Mesh covers the entire upper and is a breathable lightweight fabric.
  • Synthetic Overlays are intended to keep the upper snug to the foot.
  • Slip Lasting involves wrapping and stitching the upper in a bootie-like shape before it is glued to the midsole to increase flexibility and decrease weight.
OUTSOLE
  • XT-600 is located throughout the outsole and is a carbon rubber material that increases traction without sacrificing durability.

Comments: These flats are awesome! They aren't the lightest flats in the market, but they have enough protection under the forefoot and the right amount of spring to keep your rotation going. Like all spikes and flats they run fairly narrow, so I sized up a full size to get the right amount of width in the toe box. I liked how Saucony removed some of the stitching from the Upper that was present in the XC4, this reduced blistering if you decide to go sock less. I still hope Saucony can improve the upper even more in the next iteration; I just wish it was completely seamless, and made of a softer material. I used socks in these because I felt sock less would cause blistering. All in all a great shoe for any terrain really and for distances of 5k to 10 miles. Awesome job again Saucony.
