Comments: Everybody's feet are different, and these may be great for some people. However, I run about 40 miles a week, and I broke these in slowly, but as soon as I started putting any real mileage on I got the worst shin splints of my life. I would probably wear them in hiking boots because they feel great when walking, but no more running.

Comments: I love mine. There's no question my alignment changed...I checked these AND my Superfeet on the device and it was pretty obvious which one straightened my ankles out. For me, ALINE is doing the job and I will definitely stay with it.

JUST AWESOME!!

Comments: Terrible for flat feet! The edges of these insoles are so sharp they can be used to cut up vegetables. Also, the "non-slip" texture is about 80% smooth with 20% sandpaper-like rough spots. This combination equals blisters because of the uneven texture distribution. So forget that cushy feeling that you are used to, the only cushioning that is left are your spandex thin running socks. Did I mention rigid? It's like putting a plastic wedge in your shoe. And because it's molded plastic (yes, plastic, they might call it space age polymer) it is heavy, and no runner likes a heavy shoe. I was actually very surprised how heavy they were. The ride is so-so, these insoles, like all insoles, do not miraculously correct mechanical problems. You can correct your own gait by balance exercises and building muscle around weak spots in your lower legs.

Comments: Alines worked great for me. Previously, used custom orthotics, superfeet, etc. with various stability and neutral shoes. The pain in my met area was bad enough for me to consider stopping running. The pain was gradually getting worse. Orthotics and stability shoes try to keep your feet from moving in a certain way - basically locking your foot in a position to achieve the desired result. Alines let you foot achieve the correct alignment position naturally without locking your foot in a give position.
I've been using Alines for over two months now and have transitioned from stability shoes to neutral shoes and am running 6+ miles a day pain free. There is an adjustment period, the Aline reps recommended wearing insoles in my street shoes for one week before running in them- good advice. I can't wait to try these in my ski boots.
This simple alignment test showed me: do a deep knee bed and watch to see if your knee caps track over your feet. My left knee tracked significantly inward- probably due to previous ankle injuries from basketball. With custom orthotics in my stability shoes, my knees would track straight over my feet. In neutral shoes with orthotics, my knees would NOT track straight. In any shoes, with Alines, my knees track straight. The Alines let my feet naturally set my knees, legs, etc. in correct alignment position in any shoe. IMHO, good alignment, good chance of eliminating running pain.
