Customer Reviews

Comments: I had run in Mizuno Inspires since they were first introduced. But when the Inspire 10s came out, they were too firm and stiff for my liking. So I hunted for a replacement. The NB 870 comes as close as anything I've tried. I'm a fairly efficient runner with a mid-foot strike who only needs mild stability. I also want a lightweight trainer with a normal drop, not a 4mm or even 0 drop. The 870 does run slightly wider than the Inspire 9, but not so much that it's sloppy. Mizunos always were known as being narrow, which suited me fine since I'm a narrow B. The 870s seem to have a very similar foot flex as the Inspire 9s and a similar toe off and overall foot feel. They also are moderately cushioned without being mushy. As a mid-foot striker, I do need some cushioning under the balls of my feet, and the Mizuno 10 just doesn't have it. Now I just hope NB doesn't go totally revamping the 870.
