Comments: I run 35-40 miles/week, 1/2 of that on trails, 60 miles per week cycling, and 1 mile per week swimming. The surge is a great minimalist pack to carry enough water, gels, bars, a sandwich, and to shed that coat or pullover. Still has room for your phone, keys, and some cash. Super light pack. Trim the straps once you get it fitted and you will be ready to go. It makes a good pack for MTB rides as well. I could really use it as a daypack since I don't need to cook a 5 course lunch, read books, and other non necessities on the trail. Heck of a deal too!

Comments: I rarely review products but this is a great pack. It's versatile, holds a lot of water with room for other stuff, and most importantly it's really comfortable to run with. I bought this to use on a trail marathon. I'd never run with any kind of pack or hydration system before and was a bit wary of how it would affect my running. Well, it basically disappears, even when filled with water, phone, extra layers etc. Haven't had it long enough to comment on durability but the construction seems very solid, so I don't anticipate any problems. Strongly recommended.
