Customer Reviews

Comments: It doesn't seem like PI understands male anatomy. I tried the first model of the ultra short and the brief was awkwardly uncomfortable it was a women's cut. They were useable as long as I wore my own compression shorts underneath. So this design seemed like it would be ideal - especially since I have PI tights that fit just fine. But the brief in this short is designed with just straight legs without any package area which is really, really weird. So unless you don't mind running with your junk smashed down your leg, I wouldn't recommend these. The gel flask pockets were a really nice idea but for the price, a pair of comfortable men's shorts and an extra belt for flasks is a better solution.

Comments: Pearl Izumi keeps improving. I've gone through PI Phase and Infinity, and I thought last season's Fly was a great design, but this model really improves upon comfort. The waist band is unlike any other short I've worn - almost nonexistent, but without sacrificing fit. Mesh at the hips provides ventilation and pockets are roomy and well-placed. The shell is a little thinner than the '12 Fly's, with more stretch, while the fit is a bit more snug. A good short to have.

Comments: I think PI needs to stick to cycling. They don't understand the running short. I'm a 29 waist. Small guy. So I bought the sm size. This seam that has the stretch material connected in the back and sides to the short does not work with the short material. The material is conforming yet the rest of the short is loose. Causes way too much bunching and gathering on a run. Not good. And cost is too high.
