CUSHIONING

  • Forefoot Gel cushioning system uses a silicone-based gel for responsive shock absorption on impact.
MIDSOLE
  • Solyte is an ultra light, top-of-the-line midsole that delivers durable and responsive cushioning.
  • DuoMax Support System is located in the medial midfoot and is a dual density midsole that is designed to reduce excess pronation.
  • Space Trusstic System utilizes a gender-specific, thermal plastic midfoot unit for natural foot movement and increased torsional rigidity.
  • Impact Guidance System (IGS) design creates a smooth and balanced heel-to-toe transition.
  • Guidance Line is a vertical flex groove in the forefoot for improved gait efficiency.
UPPER
  • Open mesh on the upper provides breathable coverage.
  • Personal Heel Fit (PHF) uses a two layer memory foam lining in the heel collar to provide an individualized fit.
  • Discrete Eyelets are independently placed to disperse lace tension and enhance comfort.

Comments: This shoe made my feet feel great, it it's awesome for running and will suit anyone's running style. I have been an avid runner for over 40 years, have been featured in Runners Digest and have not found the perfect shoe until now. This is the perfect show for running, hands down.

Comments: Unfortunately, as is often the case with heavier-end support shoes, this shoe inhibits form-focused runners looking to maintain a natural cadence and foot strike. The heel will feel like a solid block underfoot, and the forefoot does not have enough mobility and cushioning to soften the blow with pavement or concrete. Impact absorption is low, and the general rigidity of the shoe inhibits the foots natural functioning to that end. For mild-moderate over-pronators, this shoe may be overkill. One could consider this a lighter version of a motion-control shoe.

Comments: This  model has a much better heel cup that the last two versions lacked. The post feels more comfy where it intersects with the heel cup...no more medial heel blisters. The cushion is improved with the larger heel gel pad so the shoe feels a bit less stiff, much like the 2100. The toe box is a bit longer vs the 2160 as in the big toe area being less chopped.
