Cushioning in the Supernova Sequence 2 is provided by adiPRENE in the heel and adiPRENE+ in the forefoot. adiPRENE is a highly shock absorbent material that cushions and protects your heel at impact. adiPRENE+ is a resilient cushioning used to protect the forefoot and provide a responsive, dynamic toe-off.

The midsole of the Supernova Sequence 2 is comprised of: FORMOTION, TORSION SYSTEM and a pro-moderator. FORMOTION is the freely moving heel system that is de-coupled allowing to adapt to your individual running style. adidas' TORSION SYSTEM is a lightweight arch support that allows the forefoot and rearfoot to move independently for better surface adaptation and stability. It provides a unique transition from heel to toe. The pro-moderator is a lightweight, highly supportive yet durable midsole stability element. It allows a natural and stable transition.

The midsole is also made of a combination of adiLite and respoEVA for a lightweight, cushioned feel.

adidas uses GEOFIT technology to enhance the fit and comfort by placing padding in anatomically correct areas. Also included in the upper is a Lightstrike 55 lasting for added comfort and stability. Lastly, a dual-layer sockliner made of adiLite/respoEVA for great step-in and motion comfort is included in the upper construction. This sockliner is also antimicrobial. 

adiWEAR and blown rubber make up the outsole. adiWEAR is an extremely durable, non-marking rubber used for the outsole in high-abrasion areas. adiWEAR is strategically placed in the heel of the Supernova Sequence 2. Blown Rubber makes up the rest of the outsole.
