Cushioning in the Supernova Glide is provided by 3-D adiPRENE in the heel and adiPRENE+ in the forefoot. 3-D adiPRENE is a highly shock absorbent material that cushions and protects your heel at impact. adiPRENE+ is a resilient cushioning compound used to protect the forefoot and provide a responsive, dynamic toe-off.

The midsole of the Supernova Glide is comprised of  FORMOTION and adidas' TORSION SYSTEM. FORMOTION is the freely moving heel system that is de-coupled allowing allowing the shoe to adapt to your individual running needs. adidas' TORSION SYSTEM is a lightweight arch support that allows the forefoot and rearfoot to move independently for better surface adaptation and stability. It provides a unique transition from heel to toe.

adidas uses GEOFIT technology to enhance the fit and comfort of the Glide by placing padding in anatomically correct areas. Also included in the upper is noSeam support technology. The upper also includes a perforated EVA tongue for comfort and temperature regulation as well as quick-dry open air mesh and 30-degree reflectivity.

The upper includes a dual-layer sockliner made of adiLite/respoEVA for great step-in feel and motion comfort. This sockliner is antimicrobial. The Supernova Glide has a strobel-lasted adiPRENE 45 in the heel and a traditional strobel-last in the forefoot.

adiWEAR 6 is used in the outsole in high-wear areas for the best durability and protection. Blown rubber is used in other areas of the outsole for lightweight grip and cushion.
