Comments: I am on my 2nd pair, but finding original version hard to find. The Defyance 2's do not the have the same feel in the shoe. I got over 500 miles on each pair; could have put more but do not usually try to find max use on shoes. I weigh around 185 and do 45 - 50 a week in mixed running.

Comments: I love these shoes. I am on my third pair, and they work great. I will agree with the others that about 300 miles is max on them. I'm 205 lbs. and got about 300 to 325 on my first two pairs. All the miles were on the road. I will say that at the cost they are at closeout, they are well worth the price.

Comments: I've been through several pairs of Glycerins (4's and 5's) along with the Radius 7's before these. The Defyance fit my feet great. I have a normal width foot with a narrower heal and a higher arch. I'm also around 185-190 pounds and am a mid/fore-foot striker. Overall, the Defyance fit more like the Glycerins than the Radius 7's. If you like the fit of the Glycerins, then you will probably like the Defyance. If you like the Radius, then you may not like the Defyance. I found the Radius to be to narrow across the ball of the foot and the Defyance was perfect. I'm currently training for a marathon so I've be running between 35 and 40 miles a week at an average of 8 minutes a mile. The Defyance started off great, but they have really showed the wear more than my other Brooks. Most of my miles have been on a rubberized track and the sole shows excessive wear (especially compared to the Radius which still look pretty new after 300+ miles). The midsole also seems to have a much less cushioning now than the first 100 miles. Almost to the point where I'm not sure I will be able to get these to 300 miles. I would bet that if you are lighter and more efficient, then you may get more out of them.

Comments: I've been through some pairs of Glycerins and Adrenalines. I liked both them but had problems with both as well. I under pronate on my left foot and over pronate on my right (weird I know) and these shoes are nice and neutral. They seem to fall somewhere between the Glycerins and Adrenalines. I really like them. The only criticism I have is they don't seem to live up to Brooks' high mileage rep, I'm only about 140 lbs and I've crushed these shoes down pretty well after just a few 70+ mile weeks.

Comments: I was a radius 7 wearer and since they are being discontinued thought I would try this shoe. I am 190 pounds..mild corrective orthotic in one shoe only..neutral in my other foot. I wore them around the house for 4 hours..never got comfortable in them simply because of fit..I have a very high instep and these didnt allow enough room through the midfoot upper area..couldnt find any lacing that would work,either. This is not to be perceived as a slight to the shoe itself..I think for the right foot shape and pronation needs this would be a great shoe...felt good underneath just couldnt get upper to work for me.
