Customer Reviews

Comments: I did a very hilly 50 miler at a 9:35 pace in these with minimal muscle fatigue; I did the same race last year in regular shoes at a 10:20 pace with substantial cramping and muscle fatigue toward the end (hence the slower overall pace). So for me, they worked.

I was very skeptical when I first saw them, but they really do reduce muscle fatigue and general wear and tear on your body from running. They are more than just regular running shoes with a bunch of extra cushioning added. They are designed and constructed very different from your regular shoes, and they feel very different at first. But you get used to them. I do not find them good for fast-paced runs, but I am not used to a straight-lasted shoe so maybe that's just me.

My only complaint is they fit strange: wide though the heel and mid-foot, and then quite tight in the toe-box. The exact opposite of my usual shoes.
Others have commented that the outsole wears quickly. This is true, but it doesn't seem to affect the ride at all. Those little bumps on the outsole wear down but the cushioning doesn't pack down. But I only weigh 150; heavier runners may disagree.

Note that the Boni B's are meant for roads and packed trails. I do not find them good for rocky trails or eneven ground - too hard on the ankles. The Hoka trail shoes have much deeper and softer soles to soak up the rocks etc, so get those instead if you run on rough trails.

Comments: Had a pair of BB's.  First, they are extremely light and are cushioned like no other running shoe. However, beware that these shoes are soft soled and depending on the surface/terrain they will wear out quickly--basically, not recommended for roads or pavement.  I also found the toe box to be tight, so runners with wider feet should take notice.

Comments: I've run in the Bondi B for 8 months.  I credit it to saving my running career.  At 49 years old I was nearing the point of quitting, as I was getting injured frequently no matter the shoe I wore.  Happily, I have not been injured since I started wearing the Bondis.  I've trained hard for a half and a full marathon(Boston 2012) logging over 1200 miles since September, 2011.  These shoes help me.  I recover more quickly and easily. I am glad Running Warehouse chose to carry these!!  The shoes start out firm then will soften over time.  These shoes put you in a proper running posture/position. These will make you use your quads, hamstrings and glutes.  After the first several runs these areas were tighter than I was used to.  I credit the Hoka Bondi for resurrecting a fading running career.

Comments: Took the Bondi B for a 12 mile tempo trail run. I didn't feel a great deal of cushioning during the run but you do notice it while walking around. I'm a mid foot striker and felt the Bondi B shoes were stable. I wear a 10.5 in Brooks and Montrails, my 10.5 Bondi were true to size. I'm looking forward to adding more miles to break in the shoes and completing some upcoming ultras. Very happy with the purchase.

Comments: Love the Bondi B's.  Surprisingly lightweight and the cushioning is unbelievable without feeling overly mushy.  I found them to be a great investment for long runs over 20 miles and for recovery runs.  Therefore, for now on my shoe quiver will always contain one Hoka product.

I heard that Hoka fixed there sizing issues from 2011, when everyone was encouraged to size up 1/2.  My one complaint for the Bondi B's (and since fixed on the Evo's) is the excessive wear of the outsole - particularly in the mid-foot strike area.  Because of this, I tried to use my Bondi's mostly on natural surfaces.
