The Elixir 7 is a moderate feature, minimum support shoe that is designed for speedwork, racing and daily training.

  • Mizuno Wave consists of an elastic, thermal plastic wave running from the heel to the midfoot, creating an incredibly springy and well-cushioned ride.

  • AP+ is Mizuno's top of the line full-length copolymer midsole for a lighter, more resilient ride.
  • Smooth Ride is a gender specific network of grooves that minimizes the rapid acceleration and deceleration of the foot to create a smooth heel to toe ride.

  • AIRmesh covers the entire upper and provides breathability to keep the foot cool.
  • Dynamotion Fit creates optimal fit with stretch material in the forefoot and a collar construction that prevents the heel collar from buckling under load.
  • Standard Sockliner provides underfoot comfort.
  • Strobel Last with the upper stitched to full length fabric for a comfortable underfoot feel.

  • X10 located in the heel and forefoot is made of durable carbon rubber for enhanced traction.
  • G3 Sole is a lightweight rubber dot pattern in the forefoot for increased grip and flexibility.
  • Flex Controllers placed in high flex areas on the outsole act as miniature wave plates for increased flexibility and reduced weight.

Customer Reviews

Comments: Recently picked a pair, especially since the liquidation price was right. Nice shoe; wish I had discovered it sooner. Can't say I'm particularly fond of the color, but I'm more of a form-&-function runner rather than a running fashionista, so I can live with it.

Comments: I have run a marathon in the 6's and a marathon in the 7's. They are a great shoes. They feel light and flexible.

Comments: This is my shoe. I have run them for years because they're the lightest stability shoe on the market and I'm not a minimalist. I look forward to the new skins and Mizuno never disappoints me. The seven recommended buying a half size up. They make  you feel fast and I race at sixty and they keep my feet snugly fit until the finish, every time. Great at wicking moisture on the coast, really hot, humid. The Elixir is a great racer and daily trainer, long lasting. Get some!

Comments: These shoes are lightweight, soft on the foot, and incredibly responsive. As light feeling as they are, they seem to have plenty of support. To me the front may feel loose as previously reviewed, but comfortably loose. By no means do they  feel sloppy. I have run up to a half marathon in them, and they stay solidly in place on the foot. Great shoe.

Comments: Highly recommended shoes. These are light, just enough support and ample but not oversize toebox. First time on Mizuno (always on Asics before) and although I continue rotating the DS Trainer with the Elixir, I feel the Elixir slightly more responsive. As always, extremely happy with RW service and orientation.

Comments: I love my Elixer 6 shoes for long runs and was very excited to get the 7s . Unfortunately, the fit is looser and the feel is not the same in the update. Style is a matter of preference but the zebra scheme added to my dislike. Sent them back and stocked up on the old model.
