  • Mizuno Wave consists of an elastic, thermal plastic wave running from the heel to the midfoot, creating an incredibly springy and well-cushioned ride.
  • VS-1 cushioning material in the heel provides additional shock absorption.
  • Smooth Ride is a gender-specific network of grooves that minimizes the rapid acceleration and deceleration of the foot to create a smooth heel to toe ride.
  • Extended Wave Plate in the midfoot is an extension of the Mizuno Wave for increased torsional rigidity between the heel and forefoot.
  • AP+ is Mizuno's top of the line full length copolymer midsole for a lighter, more resilient ride.
  • AIRmesh covers the entire upper and provides breathability to keep the foot cool.
  • OrthoLite Sockliner is anti-microbial and moisture wicking for a healthy foot environment.
  • Dynamotion Fit creates optimal fit with stretch material in the forefoot and a collar construction that prevents the heel collar from buckling under load.
  • X10 located in the heel and forefoot is made of durable carbon rubber for enhanced traction.

Customer Reviews

Comments: Now on the Wave Enigma 2 from the original Wave Enigma. Used for 3.8 mile walk 3x per week and found the shoes extremely comfortable for my 94kg weight and 67 yo age. Especially roomy for me in the top of the front foot pocket which always seems to press on the top of my toes on my other Asics and New Balance. Only serious complaint is the U shaped heel- although very supportive and cushioned, it is both shaped and made of ideal material to capture irregular stones which about 10% of the time have to be removed immediately.

Comments: What a monstrous, clunky, stiff, heavy, horrific beast. Are you kidding me Mizuno? lol Sent it back.
From: Rick, Brooklyn, NY

Comments: More of a firm ride than a Vomero or Nimbus and not fun to walk in, but feels great at full stride. I tried on the original and it was way too tight. This version is easier on wider feet, but not sloppy. I stayed at regular size but I can see how if you are between sizes, going up is better. Best part: very durable shoe. Almost all my miles are on the road but it still looks new underneath and the cushioning seems to have all its bounce after 100+ miles. Can't always say that about the softer shoes.
