The Wave Ronin 4 is a minimum feature, minimum neutral shoe deigned for speedwork or racing.

  • Mizuno Wave consists of an elastic, thermal plastic wave running from the heel to the midfoot, creating an incredibly springy and well-cushioned ride.
  • AP+ is Mizuno's top of the line full length midsole copolymer material for a lighter, more resilient ride.
  • Smooth Ride is a gender specific network of grooves that minimizes the rapid acceleration and deceleration of the foot to create a smooth heel to toe ride.
  • AIRmesh covers the entire upper and provides breathability to keep the foot cool.
  • Standard Sockliner provides underfoot comfort.
  • Dynamotion Fit creates optimal fit with stretch material in the forefoot and a collar construction that prevents the heel collar from buckling under load.
  • Slip Last involves wrapping and stitching the upper in a bootie-like shape before attaching the upper to the midsole which helps promote flexibility and decreases weight.
  • Flex Controllers placed in high flex areas on the outsole act as miniature wave plates for increased flexibility and reduced weight.
  • X10 located in the heel and forefoot is made of durable carbon rubber for enhanced traction.
  • G3 Sole is a lightweight rubber dot pattern in the forefoot for increased grip and flexibility.

Customer Reviews

Comments: This is my second pair I bought off this site. I have had great service, love it. As for the shoe, love it also! Due to an injury I went from the universe 4 to the ronin 4. No performance drop off and it had the added support I needed. This shoe is good for any length race or training you are doing. The difference in weight is hardly noticeable. I would suggest both shoes, great shoes.

Comments: Long time Mizuno fan! 1st Wave Ronins. Super lightweight, feel fast. Have put 36 miles on these so far with long run of 18 miles. Everything I expected and feet felt great after my 18 miles. The shoe size ap had me go to a size 12 from an 11.5 in my other Mizunos and Newtons. They feel a bit loose so I question if the 11.5's would have been ok, but have gone to a bit thicker socks. I have had no issues with blisters or slippage, although they feel long. Will be wearing these for Disney Marathon in two weeks. Oh, you can't pass on price of $62!!!

Comments: It's hard to believe no one has reviewed this fantastic shoe yet.  I've been running in the Ronin since version 2 (best colorway by far) and though I've tried many other shoes to see if there was something made I'd like better, there isn't.  This is a fantastic half marathon race shoe and I plan to use the Ronin in my 3:15 and faster marathon attempts in 2013.
