The Wave Ronin 2 is a minimum feature, minimum neutral shoe deigned for speedwork or racing. It is built with a semi-curved shape.

  • Mizuno Wave extends from the heel to the midfoot and is composed of an elastic thermal plastic material shaped in a parallel wave pattern. This corrugated design allows for vertical deformation during heel strike to absorb impact.
  • AP is a full length midsole copolymer material that provides lightweight, responsive, yet durable cushioning.
  • Smooth Ride is located at the lateral heel and across the entire forefoot and is a gender specific network of grooves to minimize the rapid acceleration and deceleration of the foot during transition to create a smooth ride.
  • AIRmesh covers the entire upper and provides breathability to keep the foot cool.
  • Mizuno logo is located at both the medial and lateral sides and functions to help hold the foot in place.
  • Standard Sockliner
  • Dynamotion Fit is Mizuno's design philosophy to create optimal fit with stretch material located in the forefoot and a collar construction that prevents the heel collar from buckling under load.
  • X10 is located in the heel and forefoot for enhanced traction and is composed of durable carbon rubber.
  • G3 Sole is primarily located at the forefoot and is a rubber dot pattern that provides increased grip and flexibility while maintaining a low weight profile.

Customer Reviews

Comments: I'm fairly new to running, but had the opportunity to try these compared to the Nike Streak 3.  I don't know all the technical terms, but the Mizuno is a nicer shoe by far.  Someone mentioned how the heal and midfoot felt perfect with a spacious toebox and that is the perfect description.  I have a little bit wider foot and this shoe is excellent.  I average 20 miles a week and this shoe beats out all the Nike's and NB I've tried.

Comments: This shoe is hands down the best shoe on market for mid foot strikers.  Have about 400 miles on my current pair with runs on road and trails.  I do speed work, long slow runs and races all in this shoe.   Yes, I buying another pair! Hope they dont screw up the next version!
From: Aaron, Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Comments: Right now I run in Mizuno Wave Rider 12 and have a pair of Asics Tarther for speed runs and races. My Mizuno 12 are amazing so I wanted to get another pair of Mizuno but for racing. I tried theses Ronin shoes and the thing I did not like was the toe box was to big for my foot. I tried sizing down but it felt that my foot was just swimming in the front section. My other Mizuno shoes dont do that and neither my asics. Some people may like that feeling and roominess but I prefer my shoes both racing and daily runners to be more "fitting" all around.

Comments: Great for racing and training.  I get a new pair of Ronins every spring.  My all time favorite shoe, I use them for ALL my races (5k-marathon), speed work and long runs....this has to add up to more then 400 miles.  Shoes are very durable and do not show the ware.  Shoe holds the midfoot and heel very well, while the roomy toe box allows the forefoot to move the way it should.

Comments: Followed up Wave Ronin, with another! Had green, now blue, and will purchase this yellow Ronin! Completed past 2 marathons and all training w/these Mizuno shoes. Was skeptical at first but love them now!!!

Comments: I have run about 200 miles in these and love them! I wear them for all of my runs, long runs included. they'll be on my feet (or a newer pair maybe!) for my half marathon in October.

Comments: I have about 120 miles on these so far and really like them.  I have worn about every shoe out there and this has been the most comfortable shoe to date.  I use this shoe for road and trail races (suprisingly good traction on dry trails), speedwork on road and trails and some tempo runs.  Has good cushioning for a flat.  I have ran 3 1/2's in them and would have no issues running a full.
