Customer Reviews

Comments: I love the 1400 version 1, but I have to agree that the version 2 has a really "scratchy" upper. I have about 25 miles on them and they still cause irritation on my toes even wearing socks. Stocking up on the version 1 for now.

Comments: I have to take back what I first said about this shoe. Originally I was pretty upset that I wasn't able to comfortably wear these shoes sockless like I do in the V1. The new upper material was just too scratchy on the tops of my feet and I always run sockless. With winter weather forcing me to wear socks like a normal person I found that sweet spot. After a few runs the upper has softened up considerably. The shoe feels firm in the forefoot, but nice and plush in the heel. I'm so happy I gave it a 2nd chance. This is now my go to trail/road shoe. The outsole compound is super sticky even in wet conditions, so even though there's no lugs or aggressive tread for trails, it still sticks really well.

Comments: Marvelous shoe. This is a racing flat, and fits snug, similar to the Brooks T7 as a point of reference. I wear an 11.5 in most shoes, and wear a 12 or 12.5 in the MR1400 v2. The good news is the shoe is incredibly 12.5's are still incredibly light. The feel is perfect for the road, and the shoe feels fast. New Balance has a winner here. This is my racing shoe for 2014.

Comments: The 1400 V2 does not necessarily fit smaller. Much of the fit issues are due to the new insole. Since I swap the insole out for a Superfeet Black, the V2 fits me in the same size as the V1. I'm pleased with the update and happy I opted for a pair of the V2 as opposed to a closeout V1.

Comments: Upper is stiffer than original 1400 and the fit is snugger to forefoot. I wear the 1400 without socks and the upper fit on V2 is less comfortable because of stiffness causing rubbing on top of my foot. Right out of the box they felt incredibly light. A noticeable difference in weight from V1. It has a bit less of a cushioned feel to me when run back to back with the V1. Looks like there is less Revlite foam in the heel to save more weight. My opinion is buy all the V1 1400 you can. This update is not better than the original even though it's gotten lighter.

Comments: Nice shoes but don't get fooled by NB marketing. This shoes fit way smaller compare to the previous version. It might be 0.7oz lighter in size 9 but if you needed a size 9 in MR1400 you will certainly need a size 9.5 in MR1400v2, the comparison is biased and you might not shave that announced 0.7oz.
