Introduction

The New Balance 909 is a moderate featured shoe designed for neutral or supinating runners. As a technical trail model, the 909 is designed to provide off road cushioning and stability intended for every day training. The 909 is built on the SL-1 Last developed to provide optimal stability for runners that have flexible foot types and results in a straight overall shape.

Cushioning

• ABZORB is positioned in the heel and forefoot and is New Balance's top of the line foam. It is composed of Dupont Engage and Isoprene rubber for improved cushioning.

Midsole

• ABZORB FL is a full-length midsole unit. ABZORB FL is the highest grade midsole from New Balance and is composed of DuPont Engage and isoprene rubber. This midsole offers great durability and a cushioned ride.
• ROCK STOP 2 is a flexible layer of high durometer EVA foam that is located between the outsole and the midsole. ROCK STOP 2 protects feet from rocks and shock, minimizes pressure, and disperses shock energy.

Upper

• Water Resistant Mesh Upper is utilized throughout the upper and is designed to keep your feet dry and cool.
• PHANTOM LINER is located along the inside of the upper. The PHANTOM LINER provides a seamless liner next to the foot to minimize points of irritation and Lightning Dry is used to maximize moisture transfer.
• NLOCK is located on the external midfoot of the upper. NLOCK secures the mdifoot and deliver a performance fit.
• Gusseted Tongue helps keep out debris.
• Toe Protect is a toe cap engineered to add protection from rocks, roots, and other obstacles.
• Dual Density Collar Foam is loacted in the heel and helps secure the heel in place and provides comfort.
• SURE LACE shoe laces are designed to reduce the chance of unwanted lace loosening.
• Construction last: Full-length strobel lasted ABZORB unit for enhances cushioning.
• Sockliner: An Ortholite insole delivers added cushioning.

Outsole

• Ndurance is located in the heel and center of the forefoot. Ndurance is a highly durable carbon rubber.
• Aggressive Lugged Outsole are reversed lugs that are designed to aid in traction over multiple surfaces.
