INTRODUCTION

Nike's LunarEclipse+ 3 is a moderate featured, moderate support shoe designed for daily training and high mileage. It is built with a curved shape.

CUSHIONING

  • Eclipse-specific Lunarlon cushioning system uses a soft, durable foam dropped to the outsole level in the forefoot to give an extra plush, responsive feel for the road. This is set inside of a supportive foam carrier to give all around lightweight, luxurious cushioning.

MIDSOLE

  • Eclipse-specific Lunarlon cushioning system uses a soft, durable foam dropped to the outsole level in the forefoot to give an extra plush, responsive feel for the road. This is set inside of a supportive foam carrier to give all around lightweight, luxurious cushioning.
  • Dynamic Support layers the LunarLite foam core with the Phylon carrier to produce a denser medial midsole, helping to reduce over pronation.
  • Crash pad at the bottom of the heel is a decoupled, gender-specific unit that reduces impact shock and corrects over pronation.

UPPER

  • Engineered Mesh comprises the upper, providing lightweight breathability.
  • Dynamic Flywire provides necessary support and unmatched fit while reducing the shoes overall weight.
  • Synthetic Overlays are strategically placed to increase flexibility and provide a snug fit.
  • Heel Counter wraps the rearfoot and keeps the heel stable in the shoe.
  • Tri-Density Sockliner provides underfoot support and cushion.
  • Strobel Last with the upper stitched to full-length Phylon, for enhanced cushioning and a soft underfoot feel.

strong>OUTSOLE

  • BRS 1000 carbon rubber provides durable traction.
  • Environmentally Preferred Rubber in the forefoot provides multi-surface traction.
  • Flex Grooves are gender-specific for enhanced flexibility and heel-to-toe efficiency.
  • Waffle outsole design in the forefoot provides multi-surface traction and a touch of cushioning.

Comments: Finally, a LunarEclipse model similar to the Nike Equalon.  I'm sorry if there are any LunarEclipse v1 and v2 fans out there dissapointed with this shoe.  For me, the third time is a charm.  The fit is fantastic and the flywire system creates a nice snug fit but not too tight.  Gone is
the spongy, loose feeling found in the LunarEclipse+ 2.

One suggestion, ShoeFitr seems to recommend a half size down.  I'd suggest ordering your normal size like I did.  A half size down for me would have been way too small.  Nike's website recommends ordering your normal size.

I'm 162lbs and run 20-25 mi per week.
