INTRODUCTION

The Zoom Elite+ is a moderate featured, moderate neutral shoe designed for daily training.  This shoe is Nike+ sensor compatible.

CUSHIONING

  • Zoom Air located in the forefoot consists of a low-profile pressurized air pocket that flexes on contact for responsive cushioning.
MIDSOLE
  • Phylon is a full-length midsole foam that delivers lightweight, resilient cushioning.
  • Crash pad running 3/4 length of the shoe is a decoupled, gender-specific unit that reduces impact shock and corrects over pronation.
UPPER
  • Open mesh covering the upper provides great breathability.
  • Overlays are strategically placed for increased flexibility and a secure fit.
  • Dynamic Fit uses a supportive inner sleeve that wraps under the arch and around the midfoot for increased arch support and an adaptive fit.
  • EVA sockliner mimics the curvature of the heel and arch for increased comfort and support.
  • Combination Strobel Last utilizes a fiber board in the rear portion of the shoe to promote stability, and the forefoot is finished in a Strobel manner for underfoot comfort.
OUTSOLE
  • BRS 1000 carbon rubber in the heel provides durable traction.
  • Duralon blown rubber is located in the forefoot for improved cushioning.
  • Environmentally Preferred Rubber located in the forefoot provides multi-surface traction.

Comments: A great shoe for mid-foot/fore-foot strikers: lots of mid-foot cushioning without a built-up heel. And Nike Air is the most durable cushioning. It will not pack down in the fore-foot like all the others. Great shoes for everyday training b/c you can log a lot of miles without beating up your body, but faster runners will want something stiffer/firmer in the forefoot for races/speedwork. If you liked the old Skylons or the original Haywards you will like these. After 25 years I had all but given up on Nike and all their gimicky Lunar weirdness, but these are an excellent no-nonsense shoe. Beats me how they slipped past Nike's product development geniuses.

Comments: Have run in 2 prior elites and this Nike is a bit more tight fitting ....I needed a 10half...wore a 10 in previous versions...I like the zoom in forefoot and i am slower .....working through lower leg stuff...trying some barefoot strides and using these shoes to transition from structure triax to lower heel drop shoe such as Saucony mirage2 and altra instinct....these are my mainstay as i build strength in feet to gradually move lower and stronger...1 year away or more from altras full time...These elites will have a place in my running for at least a couple more pair as these work for my stide.....i am 5 10 and 192lbs .....trying to get back to 170's....ran in college at 155lbs and personal bests were back in those days.....who cares??? probaly not you....Nike elites are worth a try if you need light support and protection......shoe addicts will like the look... lol

Comments: I have been looking for a shoe with lower heel-toe drop and less weight than my usual trainers. These are awesome. It took a couple of runs to get the laces right, but now the fit is amazing. Love the feel of the shoe and they are much more durable than the other shoes in this class.
