Customer Reviews

Comments: So far so good, though I've only done one short run in them. I want to make note that they were definitely a half size smaller. I always order a 10 in Asics and these I needed a 10.5. I shipped the size 10 back. Order at least a half size larger!

Comments: I have been wearing the DS Trainer for about 5-6 years. Loved them all! This particular model not so much. After a trial run, I felt this model have a higher and denser heel. It didn't have the shock absorbing feel of my other DS Trainers. I felt the toe box was wider than my previous models too.

Comments: Best in a long time. I loved the DS Trainer years ago and gave up on it when it seemed to lack any cushioning and pinched my toes, so was pleased to try the new version 18. It is everything I wished for in a shoe. Love the fit, especially the rounded toe, the light weight (or it feels light), just the right amount of cushioning where I need it (forefoot). Thank you Asics and please please continue this shoe with the recent improvements.

Comments: This version of the ds trainer is the best since the X and XI. I am glad the ridiculous heel clutch system is gone and it is back to being the performance trainer it used to be. The only thing is that the heel is a little wide causing some minor slippage.

Comments: I've been running in DS Trainers for years and agree with others who welcome back the older heel system. I'll be ordering my second pair of the 18's while they're on sale because although I love the fit and feel on the road, this season's model is wearing out sooner for me. I don't know if it's me or whether Asics is down a bit on quality.

Comments: Sorry more positives to update with on the DS trainer. I did a long run in them to give them a chance and was sore all over (hips, knees, toes). They are just not my marathon shoe anymore :(
From: York, PA

Comments: Asics ...what are you doing??? I have been a big fan until recently. This was my marathon go-to shoe, but not sure about this model!! They feel stiff and narrow - and I ordered up a 1/2 size!! The heel feels like a rock underneath. The color is pretty but, did not slip into it and love it. Hopefully, I can post an update with more positives.

Comments: Great shoe. I wore the DS trainer until models 16 and 17 were introduced with the goofy heel system. This new shoe is more like the earlier DS trainers but a little narrower in the toebox and a little lighter than model 15 -- about 20 grams. I like the new DS trainer color but would have bought any color to wear my favorite shoe again.
