Customer Reviews

Comments: I ordered half a size up from my regular running shoe size as suggested by Altra customer service and it works. So far, so good! I feel like my feet will have plenty of room when my feet swell on long runs and without the swelling the shoe doesn't slip or feel clumsy. This shoe while minimal still has enough cushioning without losing ground feel. Good shoe!

Comments: I like these shoes as a very minimalist (perhaps a little too minimalist) trail shoe. First I tried the Lone Peak which I absolutely adore but unfortunately I am between sizes with that shoe. I kept tripping in the larger ones and eventually fell over and hurt my knee quite badly. Running Warehouse were kind enough to let me try a smaller pair but they were too small and bothered my big toe. The Superior is definitely narrower and smaller, better for my skinny feet, but maintains the super wide toe box which is CRUCIAL to me. I really want my foot to relax down and spread out as it is meant to do and the toe box on these is perfect for that. Altra, please don't ever change that! I like the light nimble feel of this shoe on relatively soft terrain, it's perfect. My only problem now is that I feel they are a little thin for technical trails and hard rocks and I would like a little more protection as in the Lone Peak. I don't think I actually received the Rock Plate that is supposed to come with the shoes and hopefully they will send me one to try. That may solve my problem but overall I preferred the ride of the Lone Peak with its slightly more cushioned and protective feel. Just too bad they don't fit me well:( I must also add that I am extremely impressed with the customer service at The Running Warehouse. Lightning quick shipping and super easy returns. Bravo!
