INTRODUCTION

The Elixir 7 is a moderate feature, minimum support shoe that is designed for speedwork, racing and daily training.

CUSHIONING

  • Mizuno Wave consists of an elastic, thermal plastic wave running from the heel to the midfoot, creating an incredibly springy and well-cushioned ride.

MIDSOLE

  • AP+ is Mizuno's top of the line full-length copolymer midsole for a lighter, more resilient ride.
  • Smooth Ride is a gender specific network of grooves that minimizes the rapid acceleration and deceleration of the foot to create a smooth heel to toe ride.

UPPER

  • AIRmesh covers the entire upper and provides breathability to keep the foot cool.
  • Dynamotion Fit creates optimal fit with stretch material in the forefoot and a collar construction that prevents the heel collar from buckling under load.
  • Standard Sockliner provides underfoot comfort.
  • Strobel Last with the upper stitched to full length fabric for a comfortable underfoot feel.

OUTSOLE

  • X10 located in the heel and forefoot is made of durable carbon rubber for enhanced traction.
  • G3 Sole is a lightweight rubber dot pattern in the forefoot for increased grip and flexibility.
  • Flex Controllers placed in high flex areas on the outsole act as miniature wave plates for increased flexibility and reduced weight.

Comments: Very comfortable shoe and runs true to size. Offers support without feeling invasive or too firm like most shoes. Great shoe.

Comments: Very loyal to mizuno wave elixir. Ran 3 marathons (including Boston!) in the elixir 6's. Need a little control but love the lightweight feel of this shoe. This is a very fast shoe. I'm a true 11, normally run in an 11 1/2 to accommodate a thicker sock. Liked the 6 model so much that I bought all new "thin" socks to make these shoes work. All this being said, just got the elixir 7's and they are perfect for my big feet! So a note to everyone else.... The 7's fit a half size bigger than the 6 model. The toe box is also wider than previous model, both in length and in width. The heel and arch fit are identical to the previous model. Hope these work well for every one else! I've never found a better multipurpose shoe. Great for speed work, distance, racing, and training.
