INTRODUCTION

The Inspire 9 is a moderate feature, moderate support shoe designed for daily training and high mileage.

CUSHIONING

  • Mizuno Wave consists of an elastic, thermal plastic wave running from the heel to the midfoot, creating an incredibly springy and well-cushioned ride.
  • SR Touch cushioning compound provides resiliency and rebound in the heel for shock absorption.
MIDSOLE
  • AP+ is Mizuno's top of the line full-length copolymer midsole for a lighter, more resilient ride.
  • Smooth Ride is a gender specific network of grooves that minimizes the rapid acceleration and deceleration of the foot to create a smooth heel to toe ride.
  • Extended Wave Plate in the midfoot is an extension of the Mizuno Wave for increased torsional rigidity between the heel and forefoot.
  • Intercool ventilation system in the midsole inhibits humidity buildup to keep feet cool and dry.
  • Gender Engineering utilizes gender-specific attributes such as a wider base in men’s shoes and additional flex grooves in women’s shoes.
UPPER
  • AIRmesh covers the entire upper and provides breathability to keep the foot cool.
  • Dynamotion Fit creates optimal fit with stretch material in the forefoot and a collar construction that prevents the heel collar from buckling under load.
  • OrthoLite Sockliner is anti-microbial and moisture wicking for a healthy foot environment.
  • Strobel Last with the upper stitched to full length fabric for a comfortable underfoot feel.
OUTSOLE
  • X10 is located in the heel and forefoot for enhanced traction and is composed of durable carbon rubber.

Comments: I have a long standing Achilles tendonitis issue and recent knee pain. Have been running since 1996. Am over 40, with 15-20 miles weekly mileage. I purchased this shoe with an orthotic insert and they are AMAZING. Nice and light and a lot of support. I am able to continue running. Training for a half marathon and will buy another pair of these shoes to "break them in" before the race.

Comments: I began training for a 10 mile race this April. I got professionally fitted for a shoe that would help with a knee/hip issue due to iliotibial band syndrome which I had due to a tennis injury. I am also a heel striker. These shoes have the perfect amount of cushioning to reduce to impact from my strike up my legs and on my knees. I have had no issues with them since the first run, and am very pleased with the fit. I normally wear a 7 1/2 but sized up to an 8 and they fit perfect. I normally wear adidas or new balance but will buy mizunos again. Highly recommend.

Comments: I bought these shoes to try when Asics changed from the 2170 to the 2000. These shoes are so light weight and comfortable I will likely never go back to Asics which feel like blocks when I put them on now. I used to add additional arch supports to my Asics but I haven't needed anything in the Mizunos. I have a normal arch but a very flexible foot so I tend to get medial shin splints. With the Mizuno Wave Inspire 9 my feet and ankles are comfortable from the start of my run to the end. I was a little concerned about the amount of mesh and how wet I'd get on a rainy day - I tested them out today in the rain and by the end of my 6 mile run my socks were only a little damp. The good part about the mesh is these will probably dry really fast! I love my Mizunos! I got both the blue and the silver/blue. They run small so I had to order a half size larger.

Comments: I just received my first pair of mizunos. I've always worn brooks adrenaline. I usually wear a 10 wide but only 10.5 wide was available and they fit just right since I also have arch support insoles. These have great support and are tighter around the heel so my heel doesn't slip like in my brooks. I'm a mid foot striker and it seems the brooks ravena I tried had more cushion but was so heavy compared to this shoe. If I was a full time runner I'd get the brooks ravena but I use these shoes for 40 min of walk jog-3 to 4 times a week and Zumba classes so the light weight of this shoe is perfect for me. The width runs a little narrow since my brooks were a 10 med width but these I had to have a 10.5 wide. The price was $20 less than my local running store which had hardly anything in stock. Thanks running warehouse! I'll be getting all my shoes here from now on.

Comments: This shoe is very lightweight and seems to have plenty of support for my high arch/overpronating foot; however, I was hoping for a more comfortable shoe. I have never run in anything but Brooks, and was looking forward to trying Mizunos, which I have heard good things about. Compared to Brooks, the shoe felt very hard and was uncomfortable. After the first run, my feet felt so tired and sore! I will be returning these blue beauties!
