Customer Reviews

Comments: As others have noted, this shoe is big. I usually go up 1.5 sizes from my street size. I ordered just 1 size up for this shoe and I LOVE a wide toe box. However, this toe box is not just wide, but high. When I tie the shoes, the extra material in the toe box actually puckers. I have an issue with the length as well. I have to use the special lacing to get them tight enough not to slip. I am using this shoe as a sometimes runner in place of the saucony kilkenny - a trail/XC shoe, very minimal. The Kinvara is obviously more shoe, but more material too! I will keep them, but I would caution others to check a half size up and a half size down to be sure of fit.

Comments: Great shoe. Fits me well (after I loosened left foot laces for my bunion). First long run had NO issues. Amazing. It is my first lower heeled shoe. Next: to try the Kinvara trail shoe... When a shoe fits, no rubs, no pain, I rebuy. I hate it when you change models and they no longer fit the same.

Comments: I bought these shoes so I could take a break from Newtons. I ran six miles in them and these are by far the best shoes that I have run in. The shoes fit perfect with the heel locked in securely. I am a mid-foot striker and these shoes were like running on air but I could still feel the road to keep good form. I am a bigger guy, 5-11, 220lbs and I had no discomfort at all. I can't wait to take them on a longer run. Ordered another pair to take to Japan with me and for 50 bucks you can't beat the price.

Comments: Is it possible to be in love with a running shoe? I think so! The Kinvara 3 is my transition shoe into a lower offset for more natural running. The upper is super comfortable, the heel collar is not at all stiff like other reviewers have stated. There is the perfect amount of cushion and it absorbs impact very well for such a light, low-profile shoe. I put on the shoe and it just disappears on my foot. I think I may be hoarding these in case I don't like the updates they make to the Kinvara 4!

Comments: Love, love, love the new color - pink, purple and citron. Get complimented on them wherever i go. but that's as far as it goes. liked the 2's much better for fit and comfort, although there's an issue with the tearing of the outside mesh with the 2's. i must have a narrow foot, the toe box in the 3's seems much more roomy than the 2's. tightened up the laces and now have puckering and they still feel loose. have experienced some numbness towards end of 3.5 mile run. also they are a little hard getting on, but that could be due to lace tightening. i am a saucony girl now and will continue to purchase their shoes exclusively. would like it if the 2's could make a come back. have 6 pairs of the 2's.

Comments: I loved the Kinvara 2, so was really looking forward to running in the updated version, particulary as Saucony managed to shave a bit more weight from the shoe. However, I was sorely disappointed. While the 2s were great out of the box, I've had nothing but pain in the 3s. After about 45-50 mins, the balls of my feet start to go numb. I've never had this happen before. I wonder if it's because my foot is moving around a bit given that the toebox seems wider to me than in the 2s. Also, the back is cut higher, so it starts to cut into my ankle bone. After 4 runs, I''m done with these shoes and am searching for the old 2s or a new replacement.

Comments: I would not recommend this shoe for a midfoot/forefoot striker. The more durable rubber is only on certain portions of the sole, leaving the rest of the sole less durable. After less than 10 miles in them, mine are already started to wear heavily (I've done about 34 in them so far and the wear is progressive). That said, comfort-wise the Kinvara 3 feels great. I've enjoyed them for my long runs. I think they would be nice for someone who is more of a heel striker or walkers. Disappointed I'll probably won't even get 100 miles out of them.

Comments: I had to go up a half size in the change from Kinvara 2 to Kinvara 3.  I found that the toe box seems more tapered on the outside of the shoe and my toes were smushed/rubbing. I do love the changes they made to the uppers.  I hope they are more durable than the 2's, which would always get a hole in the mesh where the upper cage would rub.  Looking forward to testing these out.

Comments: Only one 6 mile run on these shoes so far but no issues to report. The Kinvara 3s seemed a just tad bigger than the 2s so I had to drop down in size from 9.5D to 9.0D. I do kind of like the old K2 lacing system better however.

Comments: The changes I noticed vs the kinvara 2: Lacing system has changed, the toe box seems higher but not wider on me. The banding covering the exterior mesh seems to be a good improvement, as the mesh had a tendency to get a few small tears on my kinvara 2. There is much less flare on the sole around the toe box and the insole feels softer in the instep area. I am a walker, not a runner, walking 4 to 6 miles several times a week. I wear a seven in a street shoe and need to order an 8.5 in these, whihc is the same as my kinvara 2 size. Most other shoes I've owned I purchased a size 8. Haven't walked in them yet, hope I like them as well or better than the kinvara 2.

Comments: I love the updates to the Kinvara 2.  The Kinvara 3 fits my narrow feet like a glove (even better than the Kinvara 2), my heels don't slip or rub, there's plenty of room for my toes and I feel stable running on my forefoot (without worrying about turning my ankle).  I love these shoes!
