Comments: Let me first say i did not order these from rw they were not available at the time.I have done runs from 20 miles to 60 miles to my most recent my first 100 mile race.I love this shoe it has cushion that helps with the later miles,it dries quick from creek crossings, and i love the wide toe box that i am use to with altras. Now for the dreaded "but" i found that if it rains and the course becomes muddy my feet slip and slide worse then any trail shoe i have ever worn.I know they were going for a sole that works well on both trails and roads but lets not forget this is a trail shoe.On dry easy to somewhat technical trails this shoe is great!! If it rains or snows have you a back up or start out with a shoe that has a tread suited more for the trails.

Comments: I'll write a real review once I've logged some miles in these, but I just wanted to mention that you should be careful if you are ordering these by the shoefitr size recommendation. The recommended size will likely be shorter in length than the shoe you are comparing it to for some reason (perhaps the big width of Altra's toe box is trumping length?). My toes were just touching the end of the shoe in the size it recommended. Change the shoefitr view to "fit" view instead of "3D" view to get a sense of the length. Most likely a half size up from their recommendation will be an equivalent length to your other branded shoe.

Comments: Fantastic shoe! Have been a runner for over 40 years over all surfaces and distances. My steadfast go-to shoes were Pegasus/Hoka for roads and Cascadias/Hoka for trails. Those are all good shoes, BUT the Olympus is the most comfortable shoe by far. Initially. I transitioned to the Altra Instinct with good results. I then took the Olympus out over our rough HI trails for a long run. Traction in mud is a bit lacking, but this is typical of any shoe. The Olympus is well cushioned and allows me to navigate rough terrain with confidence. It feels more stable than the Hokas. There were no foot issues at all. I ordered the same size as my Pegasus and Hokas - the shoe initially looked too big, but fit perfectly. Can't wait to see how they perform on a long road run. Mahalo Altra for a great product and Running Warehouse for wonderful service!

Comments: Comments: I absolutely love these shoes! They work well on street and trails. I ordered the same size as my Altra Torins and they fit great. I took them for 2 five mile road runs to make sure the fit was right, then an 18 mile dry trail run with 2800' of elevation change and they worked awesome. I then used them for a wet and rainy trail marathon with 9000' of elevation change with 20 creek crossings including 1 that was knee deep. Was able to bomb the downhills and ended up 7th overall and 2nd AG. No blisters, no calf or foot pain and minimal slipping. Highly recommend! From: Dave, CA, USA. April 28th 2014

Comments: A great escape from Hokas. I have a foot ailment that requires me to run in a shoe with a lot of underfoot protection, so Hokas seemed like my best option, until the Olympus came along. These shoes are light, flexible and still offer a lot of underfoot protection. My one complaint for this shoe would be that the tread is not aggressive enough, and you tend to slip and slide on muddy trail. Hopefully, Altra will make some tread adjustments on the next version. Overall I would give this shoe 4 out of 5 stars.

Comments: Great shoes. They aren't HOKA's but they have helped me improve my running form. You can feel the difference in cushioning between the Hoka Bondi B's and the Olympus (Hoka's feel like they have more) but the Altra's have helped me improve my turnover and running form. For me, they are a great compliment to my Hoka's. The wide toe box is great and the shoes are really comfortable, no hot spots or blisters. I've run three separate ten milers in them (both trail and on roads) and the Altra's have performed well. The quick dry mesh really dries out quickly and the shoes have plenty of support over all types of terrain. I would recommend these shoes for people who want to compliment their Hoka's or don't necessarily need all the cushion that Hoka provides.
