Asics Gel-DS Sky Speed Men's Shoes Orange/White Customer feedback

Comments: Maybe it is just me but these are rather tight on the top, outside, of the small toes. I feel like my small toe is being pushed under the other one. Other than that, I like them.

Comments: Great tempo shoe, possibly even marathon shoe. Would like to see Asics drop the heel to toe ratio in some of their shoes like saucony, but they will get there sooner or later. Definitely a shoe for mid-foot to forefoot strikers, if you heel strike at all, probably should look elsewhere. I am transitioning from heel-strike to mid-foot strike and believe this is a good shoe to work on that.

Comments: Bought these about 6 months ago and IMO, they really perform well. Light and comfortable, my longest run so far in them has been 13.1, but I haven't had a single problem with blistering or any other toe related annoyances.

Comments: After the Nimbus 9, I've gone thru many types of neutral shoes all the Ghost Line, Precisions 9-11, Wave Riders & Speed stars knowing Asics top selling shoes are the Ds-Trainers & being a neutral runner, I thought I'll give the Sky Speed a try. WOW from the moment I put them on, my feet knew they were REALLY going to run happy. IMO they felt like a Nimbus 9 but without all the fat. They've worked great from my mid week 30-45min runs to my Sunday 1.5-2hr long runs. I found my new favorite running shoes. Try them

Comments: I've been wearing Asics for 15 years and this has become my favorite shoe in a heartbeat. I wore the GT line for years and in the past few months have been working on a form transition to a mid-foot striker. This shoe is perfect for mid-foot strikers or lighter heel strikers. Very responsive but supportive at the same time. Praying that Asics does not change this shoe. Bought first pair 3 months ago in a local store and came to RW so I could buy up extra stock on the Orange!!!

Comments: This is a great shoe!  I tried on the current model Gel-DS Sky Speed in Blue at a local running store.  The price tag - $105.00 .  I came on this site in the July 2011, and grabbed the "last year model" in the Orange, and took them for a ride.  I was highly impressed.  They have been to running camp, and through the fall xc season.  I have about 400 miles on these now, and just grabbed another pair since I'm nearing the end of mile life on my 1st pair.  I highly recommend them as a comfortable, lightweight trainer that can be abused and comeback for more.

Comments: Really great shoe. I am on my high schools cross country team and and use it for all of our long runs, Very durable and good flexibility. Good for fore-foot and mid-foot striking. Only compliant is that the mesh is not very breathable, but only a minor inconvenience for such a great shoe. Planning on getting the next model when my pair wears out.

Comments: Just ordered my second pair after first run in the first pair. Feels great and love the orange.

Comments: I have been training in the Mizuno Wave Rider for many years and just decided to give this new shoe a try.  So far I like it well enough.  There is a bit too much play in the toe box for me.  Feels like I can't get it tight enough and I feel that it is because of the unique lacing system. But for the price it seems like a good shoe.

Comments: I've had them since Oct 28, and I've put 110km's on them. This is the best shoe I've ever owned. My previous shoe was the Gel Cummulus 12, which was fine, but it always felt like a bulky/heavy shoe. I couldn't care less about the colour of the shoe, so the orange is fine. Quite visible for low light. In short, I've never put a shoe on that actually made me run faster, but these actually do. Even if they don't last as long as the Cumm. 12 (800+km's), I'll be getting another pair. The only complaint I have is minor. The asymmetrical lacing pattern puts some pressure on the top of my outside right foot, where the plasticy ribbing lies.
From: James, Ottawa, Ontario Canada

Comments: This is softer and more flexible than DSTrainer but more stable than other neutral trainers such as Mizuno wave precision. Held up very well during my marathon.  The independent eyelet lacing system is good and does not impede foot flex.  Not crazy about the color but my feet are happy....buying few extras to stack up.

Comments: wow these shoes are amazing! i just got them in the mail yesterday, i was a little nervous of buying them without trying them on first, but they fit perfectly! i took them out for a nice 6 mile run and they are extremely comfortable! they have nice cushion and support for your feet, and they are lightweight so you hardly notice they are on! highly recommend, i will most likely buy another pair (or the sky speed 2) when i wear these guys down.

Comments: Love these shoes.  Just purchased my second pair from RW after wearing out my first.  And the color is simply awesome.  Always get comments from others saying they like the orange.

Comments: Amazing!! I've had these for 2 weeks now, put about 10miles, 2 speed work outs and 1 5mile race and I'm in love. These are better than my favorite all time pair, the NB 902's. I started having knee pains and switched to these with a foam roller and I'm much better now. I used them as everyday trainers and will try and scoop up as many as I can. The orange is gorgeous and I put up a PR today beating my last years time by over 5min. I must admit though the Nike+ GPS watch I bought here also helped out a ton in training.

Comments: If you like them, buy as many pairs as possible now. Asiscs has a history of dumping great shoes people like as you are aware.

Comments: I just got this yesterday from a local running shop, daves performance footwear. As soon as i put them on i knew they were for me. I got the sky speed 2's but they are pretty much the same i think besides being a wonderful blue. (i like it much better than the orange) they are one of the most comfortable shoes i have worn. The forefoot feel is about like the nike free runs, a nice snug fit. I did a 4 mile yesterday in them and a 5 mile today. They feel amazing and haven't had any pains from breaking them in. I am coming from the noosa tri 6.
From: Chris, Michigan, USA

Comments: I have had the skys for a week now and logged about 35 miles on them. I typically run in ds trainers, but wanted to switch it up a little and go a little bit lighter.  These shoes have been amazing.  Yeah I
know the color is a little loud, but they work well.

Comments: I'm a huge Asics fan but I'm disappointed in these. I can't quite put my finger on it but the fit isn't there for me. I always buy a half size up but with these its too big. Recommend buying you true size.

Comments: I have had a pair of these for about a  month.  I was not sure about them when just trying them around the house, but once I went for it and was actually running in them - a great shoe.  Just enough, but not too much in all regards - upper, cushioning etc.  I personally think that they run a bit wide based on how I ended up lacing them, so I might try a 1/2 size smaller when I reorder and see if the length will still work.   Potentially, one of the best shoe to have come around in a while.  I can even tolerate the color...
From: John, Venice, CA, USA

Comments: These bad boys just arrived today.  Free shipping is awesome. Shoe feels way lighter than the Asics Gel Platinum 3 Dick's special (I loved those too).  I have a wider foot and usually get a size 11D, these fit great.  Shaved almost 5 minutes off my 10K PR for 2011 the first time I wore them.
From: Paul, Rutland, VT, USA

Comments: I know this shoe it a bit heavier than the Speedstar which I used to train in. But considering I land on my midfoot this shoe feels like its more supportive and flexible...more designed for the way I land than its brother the Speedstar. Would love to see a different color next time.
From: Raphael, Toronto, CA

Comments: Finally, Asics has started listening to it's customers. This shoe fills a huge gap that was critically missing from the Asics lineup once the Gel Landerth starting gaining weight.
From: Lloyd, Providence, RI, USA

Comments: Fantastic!  Reminiscent of the Gel Lytes and Speedstars 1-3.  Flexible yet firm, lightweight, responsive, and good fit.  A bit more between your foot and the road compared to the Hyperspeed and Tarther without losing responsiveness.  Less squishy compared to the Speedstar 4 (haven't tried the 5).
From: Anonymous

Comments: A great fit and ride. The shoe was good at a variety of paces and very smooth...please find a more subdued color. Slightly firmer and wider than the speedstar.
From: Moov Foreward, Abby, BC, CA

Comments: I didn't get this shoe from RW but let me just say that it is AWESOME! I have owned it for about 2 weeks now and it's been great for everything from intervals to tempo runs to a 10 mile long run today! This shoe was
