Pearl Izumi EM Road M3 Men's Shoes Blue/Green Customer feedback

Comments: These do require a "breaking in" period but after about 60 miles they are starting to feel pretty good. Substantial firm cushioning with a smooth transition, these daily trainers offer a nice blend of cushioning and support in a fairly lightweight package. Not quite as magical as the EM trail shoes; however, EM road shoes (in this case, the M3) are still worth a try. 50-60 miles per week, 6'4, 176 lbs.

Comments: Best Running Shoe I ever had: I prefer shoes with a minimal offset but I also need enough Support. In the past I had problems with the fit of my running shoes because my feet are really narrow. The P.I. Road M3 delivers all I need: A extrem smooth ride because of the dynamic offset, enough support for my overpronation and enough cushioning for the longest runs. The Upper fits to my narrow feet but will also work for wider feets as well. The new colors look great - I like the overall design of this shoes. The only thing they could do better is the forefoot. At the P.I. Trail M2 the forefoot is a little wider. So it should be at the Road M3 too.

Comments: The sole is stiff compared to other shoes that I have worn so far. Should have provide a soft cushioning. The impact is the most important. The video of the shoes look interesting that's why I bought one of this. Overall, not my taste. No more Pearl Izumi next time.

Comments: Swapping from Mizuno Wave Inspire 9's to the PI M3's has rid me of my recurring Achilles soreness problem. I find the PI's supportive, superbly comfortable and smooth running. My legs are certainly less sore after longish (10 miles @ 7:45 pace) runs, backing up my thoughts on their impressive shock absorption abilities. Maybe not as 'racy' as the Mizuno's, but I now run in wonderful comfort. Highly recommended.

Comments: I was a little skeptical of PI's new take on running shoes, but now pleasantly surprised. The ride of the M3 is simply smooth. No matter where you land, (heel, midfoot, forefoot) your foot just effortlessly rolls forward. The seamless upper breathes well and accommodates my foot nicely. Many reviewers mentioned that the cushioning is a bit too firm, especially in the forefoot. I believe softening up the forefoot slightly would help the shoes runabilility over longer distances. The other weakness of the M3 is the very shallow and slightly wide heel cup. For those want to use orthotics or have a narrow heel, you'll find yourself slipping out of back end.

Comments: This shoe rides a little too firm for my taste. It does have a fair bit of foam underfoot, but it seems a little redundant due to the stiffness. The toe box is also a bit narrow. As light as it is, I wish it was a bit softer. The tread holds up alright but the bare foam doesn't, especially if you are running a mix of road and trail. Overall I would not get this shoe again. I was somewhat disappointed with its durability and fit.

Comments: I have two pairs with 500 miles between them. I have been running in the Nike Structure and Brooks Ravenna series'. They are super light. They are the most comfortable shoes I have worn by far, no bulk at all. They are more firm than I was hoping, but they are the M3's for mild stability. Maybe the N1 and N2 are less firm for more a natural feel?? The weight and comfort outweigh the firmness for me so I really enjoy running in the M3's.

Comments: Got caught up in the "variable heel differential" hype and ended up disappointed by this product. The sole is very stiff and firm. Couple the sole stiffness with a loose heel cup and it's difficult to keep your heel secure. Forefoot is narrow and leaves very little room for toes to spread. Arch structure stiff and agitates flat feet. I'd have a lot of difficulty recommending the PI EM M3 over alternatives such as the Asics DS Trainer/Racer or Mizuno Wave Inspire.

Comments: First time in a PI shoe. Very smooth ride with subtle stability. Very comfortable shoes with good cushioning and a nice fit, will definitely consider other ones in the future.
