Comments: I train for Spartan Races and have found the f-lite 230s to be a great shoe for circuit training and speed workouts. They have also performed quite well on trail runs. I would not recommend these shoes for longer road runs as the minimalist design really isn't great for the pounding your body takes from the road. On the track they are excellent for me as a crosstraining athlete, I have set and bested sprint PRs in these shoes. They fit like a glove and while the toebox is narrow, the shoe molds to your foot and keeps a snug but not tight or constricting fit. The shoe does limit toe splay a bit but for shorter runs (5k and under) I have not found this to be a problem. Note the heel-to-toe drop and give yourself adequate time to acclimate to the shoe otherwise you will learn the hard way. I felt fine after my first mile run so I went out two days later for a 6.5 miler. Terrible idea. My legs were so beat up that I had to take a week off from my training runs. Heed the warning, adjusting from a traditional running shoe to 6mm drop is real!! Don't overdo it or you will set yourself back. Gradual is the key (easier said that done). For crossfit and obstacle course training these are excellent shoes. Light, low profile with great connection to the ground and very breathable. They are good trail runners for most distances. Long distance road runners will likely not be satisfied with the hard sticky rubber which is great on trails but loud and slappy on asphalt.

Comments: I use for crossfit style workouts, no ropes, and loved the shoe until seperation of sole and mesh by toe/ball of foot area occured with about 20 hours of wearing! I do not have wide feet, have never worn outside and the shoes have never been wet. I have emailed Inov8 but have not heard a response. buyer beware. I most say running warehouse was very quick with shipping and help with sizing! Good luck!

Comments: These shoes are amazing. First great thing about them is the look. Compliment after compliment about these blue boys. They just look great. They feel as amazing as they look too. I am a triathlete and use these for my cross training, but I am considering a second pair for casual use. I have not ran any distance in them yet, but I am sure they will do great. I love running flats and these keep me close to the ground and I can feel the ground like I like. They are also very grippy, I feel very much in control.

Comments: Got my 230s two days ago and did my first workout with them today. Ran about 16km worth of warm-up and hard intervals (mostly hard packed trail) and they felt great. I got the protection I needed for my foot and the proprioception my foot needs for my body to work properly. I'm tall and not very heavy and my feet are very narrow, flat and long. So these shoes are pretty much made for me. I wouldn't recommend them for heavy runners. They should go for a model with a little bit more cushioning under foot. I also got the X-talon 190 at the same time so I'm looking forward to wearing those for a XC workout next week on grassy hills.

Comments: Super light, responsive shoe. I use them for CrossFit exclusively and love the proprioception the shoe delivers. It's minamalistic structure is perfect for my flatter foot and wider forefoot feels comfortable even tho the last is somewhat narrow. I did order these in my normal running shoe size and felt they were slightly big. Returned them for my true foot size and they are perfect. Ran 250m in them as a warmup out of the box and they felt great!! I could really feel my landing on my forefoot.

Comments: My blue ones are ripping open right where the top material goes into the sole, next to the ball of the foot.
I bought them size 12.5 where usually I get 13. Fit seemed great. Inov-8, seeing a picture of the rip, less my foot, ruled that my feet are too wide for a good fit, thus failure my own fault. I've never had this type of failure with other shoes though, just the typical holes at the large toes' nails. Only buy if you are a narrow(ish?) foot.
I got about 100km of real running plus some casual use out of the 230's. Texture of the sole went in about 30-40km I would say. the lugs themselves of course are still there. I kind of liked them for the running itself, until the tear. They do offer limited grip on wet surfaces though, especially grass. All of my shoes, non-cross ones, racing flats, and regular trainers, outperfom the 230's in that respect. The fit, despite apparently being too narrow for me, has been the most comfortable I've ever had. Perhaps because the shoe IS fitting my feet so snugly by design.

Comments: The Inov-8 f-lite 230 is as fantastic as you think it should be. I was nervous about ordering them in my usual 11.5 running shoe size. But, they fit like a glove! I have a moderately wide, D-width foot. And, I have no issues with my toes feeling cramped like they are in my size 11.5 Flyroc 310s. The f-lite 230s feel really smooth when running on pavement or non-technical trails. I've logged a little under 30 miles in mine already with one long run of 14 miles on trails. And, I've never felt more comfortable in a pair of shoes. I highly recommend these shoes!
