Comments: I use the 870 in rotation with asics GT-2160 and DS Trainer 15. After more than 400 km in each of the mentioned shoes the 870 is my favorite because of the forefoot ground control and the forefoot flexibility. I hope the 870 V2 will maintain the same sole unit.

Comments: Had been on NB 826 and needed more cushioning and control. Did I mention I am 70 and have been returning to running after a 10 yr. hiatus?! In any case, these 870s seem to be ideal. Fit is good (1/2 size up from your street shoes) and motion control is just enough to help keep you feeling efficient. Nice, damped landing - easy on the feet and joints without feeling dead. I'm a 150 pounder. Advice for similar oldsters: Do Dr. Sheehan's "Magic Six" exercises every running day, no more than 3-4 days running per week. Cross train on bike or other. Easy does it - you're gonna be 10% slower at 70 than you were at 60, but you can still run as long as your "mechanics" are good and you're in good shape.

Comments: This is a mighty impressive shoe. I'm not sure why it hasn't received more attention, given its light weight, good support, and excellent fit. I have been using it in rotation with Asics DS Trainers, as good as the DS Trainers are, the 870 is every bit as impressive, with superior cushioning. The 870s are surprisingly light too - when I checked on the scales they were exactly the same weight as the DS Trainers.

Comments: Very impressed. The 870 shoes arrived this week and are replacing my very worn 8211s. My initial impression was that they seemed a bit narrow but yet they were comfortable enough. My first run was 4 miles and the shoes were awesome! Soft, shock-absorbing landings and very comfortable. At the time of this review I weigh about 210 lbs and run on pavement/concrete. I really appreciated the shock absorbing action of these shoes compared to the 8211s. I thought I might be giving up energy which would result in a slower run time, but my time actually improved.
