Comments: There aren't very many reviews on this shoe as it is a very new shoe. I hope to provide a little insight for people considering Newton's new shoe, the Energy. I have logged many miles in this shoe including many 5k's and a half-marathon since I've owned these. This shoe wants to run fast! I would have considered myself a heel striker before and noticed that I wasn't a very efficient runner and felt that I would push myself and my feet would get very sore. Since transitioning to the Energy which promotes mid/forefoot striking I find that my running is more efficient. The 5 lugs in the forefoot want to push you forward so I feel that less effort is exerted. It's almost springy. The tread is holding up very nicely as is the exterior top, sides, and insole of the shoe. Stitching is top notch as well as quality. You won't be disappointed with this shoe. It's my favorite running shoe right now. Thanks for reading.

Comments: I couldn't disagree more with the first review. These are my favorite shoes, period. I've worn them for everything from 5K to Half Marathon. They were fast over a short distance and I had no problems with my feet over 13.1. At no point did I feel like my feet were taking too much of a pounding. They certainly do encourage a forefoot strike so if you are a heel runner I don't encourage them. They would be a great shoe for someone looking to make the transition from heel to mid/forefoot. I've read comments about these shoes be to cushioned but they're really not. As a matter a fact I feel like I get quite a lot of spring out of them. As far as the lugs I don't notice a huge difference with the five lugs vs four for the Distance. I guess maybe it does add a little stability. Overall a great shoe, perfect for training and racing.

Comments: Well this shoe was a bust. I log about 70 miles a week and I'm a forefoot runner. My feet started to hurt after two miles of 610 pace out of a total of five that I was doing that day, I ran five more times and every time the pads of my feet are sore as all heck.i don't understand what's up. Disappointed.
