Comments: I started using the Nike Free a little over a year ago and quickly fell in love with them. I trained for 6 years in Mizuno wave inspires. I still love Mizuno and I would recommend them to anyone for daily trainers, but if you're like me and found yourself doing a lot of barefoot work to help strengthen your feet then you might want to consider these shoes. I actually do all of my mileage in them, (70-80 miles a week) but i am lucky enough to be near trails. I get about 300-400 miles out of them before my feet start hurting after long runs. If all you have are roads keep something handy with more support or you'll
likely get injured. On a side note, these make great speed trainers; it's also a good way to get your foot and gate accustomed to the change. Looking forward to running sub 30 min for a 10k this year! :D

Comments: I have the Shield version but I assume they're similar enough for a comparison to the 5.0 it replaced... Night & day difference. The last version of the 5.0 felt really awkward to me, as if the lateral aspect of the heel was built up. They felt like a 12mm drop shoe that encouraged pronation and were a bit firm for a shoe with a midsole of that thickness. The Free Run is more cushioned but still firm enough, and the ride is really smooth. The fit of the upper is much improved too. It feels like a more traditional shoe, just with a smaller drop and much more flexibility.

Comments: Won a pair of these at a race recently, and was pleasantly surprised with the ride this time around after being a little disappointed with the first Free Runs. The original version felt too soft and sloppy for my taste, but, although I doubt Nike changed much, these seemed a good bit firmer and closer-fitting around my foot. Can't explain it, but I like it. Smooth ride with good underfoot feel for the road. Recommended, of course, for mid to forefoot strikers with good biomechanics.

Comments: I really like the shoe and need it but it's too pricey

Comments: Wow, amazing shoe. The color is amazing. Compared to the first Free Runs, the feel is similar. That said, these are the most comfortable and beautiful running shoes I've ever had, and they're great for short to mid distance runs and track
practices.
