Comments: Great shoe. Feels light and fast. Barely feel the minimal "support." Best for neutral runners with good form, probably can help improve form. Lugs do not feel intrusive at all. Best for exclusively road (solid) surfaces; very slippery and poor traction in sand/gravel/soft trail surfaces.

Comments: Absolutely perfect. Newton hit this one out of the park. Perfect balance of support, cushioning, light weight, stiffness, flexibility, and fit. Perfect for the long course triathlete who needs a little extra cushioning, but wants to retain the responsiveness and energy return that make Newton runners very hard to return to traditional shoes. Only concern with Newton is the longevity of the lugs. Kismet is probably best for long training runs, marathons, and iron distance racing. You won't see top pros wearing them in Kona, but most can't/won't run a sub 3-hr Ironman marathon. If you're looking for a moderately fast, light, responsive, and forgiving trainer/long course racer, look no further.
