Comments: This is the first trail shoe I ever bought. I have to say, it has served my well. I have done 300+ miles in them, and they are holding up. They are relatively light, stable enough, have a wide forefoot that expands, and good on trails that are not too technically challenging (I run on bridle trails). I would get another one.

Comments: Another high quality product from Salomon. Love the lacing system. The Crossmax - with its rockplate - is a great shoe for hardpack rocky trails (like the C&O Canal Trail). Just like the shoefitr suggests - size 1/2 DOWN. My only complaint it the heel fit - it could be more snug as I find a moderate amount of heel slippage.

Comments: Switched to this shoe from the Ultra Pro. It seemed to me that the new version of the pro was much more of a stability shoe than the original. The crossmax gets back to a more neutral feel and can still withstand some technical, rocky trail. Did my first 50 miler in them, right out of the box.
