Comments: Ok, here is the scoop. I have run the Peregrine since the first model and I must say this...if you are a serious ultra runner, this shoe is for you. I have run many other shoes (Pearl N1, N2, Solomon Ultra, Hoka, ect) and these are my go to shoes for every long run. Perfect amount of cushion, great grip on all trail types (no shoe is good on wet rock Dave), they drain well, good toe room, the heel to toe is perfect, and the semi firm ride gives good trail feedback.. and the looks are not too bad either. My current shoe has 300 on them and I just threw down a 50 mile race with them....might be time for a new pair! (just don't tell my wife)

Comments: Fit is good. True to size - I wear a 10.5 in the Mirage 3 and Peregrine fits a just a bit roomier. I was wearing Montrail Rogue Racers but was looking for more foot protection but still looking for a lighter weight shoe. I have worn them now for several trail runs and here are my observations. 1. Midsole/rockplate makes the show less flexible right out of the box. They are just now softening up a bit. 2. I feel they have a good bit of protection with an aggressive lug pattern. 3. Unfortunately this lug pattern is HORRIBLE on wet rocks - there is not enough surface contact. I ended up in in a stream twice. I am not family with earlier editions of this shoe but I do enjoy the protection these shoes provide, I would just wear them in dry conditions.
