Comments: After dancing the 'injury dance' for nearly 8 months, I finally turned to Altra for all of my runs. While the instincts provide exactly what I need for recovery, short, or tempo runs, I needed something for my LSD's. The Torin fits the bill perfectly. Since switching exclusively to Altra, my injuries are gone and I'm performing better than I ever have. I was familiar with lower drop shoes prior, so my adjustment period wasn't prolonged. The Torin provides a good amount of cushion, but is still suitable for those that like to feel the road. My knees and hips feel awesome- I credit it to the improvement in my running form that Altra promotes. I did not have to size any differently from the instincts. Fabulous shoe.

Comments: Shoe runs small. I recommend sizing up a half size.

Comments: I'm 45, six foot, 190. Just finished my first marathon in terrible conditions in 4:01:45 so I've been running most of the time in the 9:15-9:25 area. During my year and a half of base training and shorter races I've gone through many different shoes from Brooks launch-Pure Flow, Saucony Ride5-Triumph 10-Cortana-Kinvara TR, Newton Distance S and MV2. I ran the marathon in the Launch. Once the marathon ended I decided there has to be a better way to do this without the pain and pounding. So I used my Kinvara TR which has a 4m drop exclusively and my nagging left inside knee pain started to subside. I'm a big believer in calf raises and do min 150 every other day so why not look into a zero drop shoe. I stumbled on the Torin and started researching and decided to pull the trigger. First impression was wow its light and not as big as I thought it would be. Once on I was shocked at how I really didn't notice the zero drop. First run was 1.5 miles with a 8:40 pace most likely from just being in a new shoe. The next day I decided to run 8.5 miles at a comfortable pace without looking at Garmin. The run was epic. I was running at a comfy pace for 7 and at mile 8 I picked it up. While running mile 8 I thought wow I could do a half no problem. Average first 7 miles was 8:34 and mile 8 was 7:56. Its been 160 miles since that epic run. Knee pain is gone, didn't have sore calves. I feel like I'm now in tune with my body because my toes can relax, allowing me to feel the road and adjust. I now feel like I'm floating when I run and it's effortless. Get a pair and start floating.
Comments: Genius, simply genius. Perfect shoe and the 2 different inserts, one just flat....perfect!! Keep up the great work!

Comments: By far the most comfortable road shoe I've ever worn! I'm 59 and after running 14 miles today my feet, leg joints and muscles have never felt better at this distance. Time to pick up a trail pair! One more thing, I walk on concrete floors all day at work and wearing these are by far the best comfort ever. So even if you're not a runner, this shoe would likely bring a whole new meaning to happy feet!
