Comments: Enough support, light, and fast. I use these shoes for mostly easy and long runs (up to 14 miles so far). I just ran my fastest half marathon while wearing these. I will buy these shoes again.

Comments: Just did a six miler in these today... meh, way too much cushioning, bouncy, I ended up taking much longer strides and often landing closer to my heels. Much prefer the firmer Saucony Fastwich 5s. These make even my Saucony Kinvara 1s (which they were originally intended to replace) feel firm! Enjoyed the lighter weight, roomy toebox and nice thick twisty laces- but will not be keeping these.

Comments: Hands down one of the better running shoes out there. Brooks shoes just feel super comfortable and durable. The second I opened the box I laced up the PureFlow and hit the tarmac. From the first step the shoe felt very responsive and comfortable. I ran 7 miles easily without any pain or discomfort. I am a ball of the foot runner and these shoes compliment my running style greatly. For those of you looking for a transitional style running shoe the PureFlow is for you.
Cons: Going down hill my toes seemed to slide forward in the toe box. This could be because it was my first run in them. Other than that they are awesome shoes.

Comments: The upper fits very well but the stride does not feel quite as right for me when running more than 10 miles at a time on the road, as in the support they provide isn't adequate for longer runs over 6-8 miles. Although it states a 4mm heel to toe drop, it "feels" like the heel is lower than the forefoot and even if you are a forefoot striker, I seem to have to provide an extra effort to "lift" the heel over the apparent fulcrum in the middle of the shoe. I have about 60+ miles on them so far and haven't really gotten used to them yet. I do notice some knee, achilles and calf aches when running in these (when doing 13+ mile runs). My regular trainers are the Mizuno Rider13's and they feel perfect (but discountinued). Ave about 4600 miles a year. Overall, I will see if I get used to them but likely will move back to traditional trainers.

Comments: This is a great shoe for the roads. Low toe drop, yet springy. I average about 25miles a wk. I typically run technical trails and use the saucony perergrines, but when I can't get out there I use these for city running and even intervals. They are very roomy especially in the toe box. I will say maybe ample room, they are not a glove-like fit but they're not racing flats. The blue color on the bottom is coming off, but I don't really care. I would definitely buy these again.

Comments: I have been running between 25 and 35 miles a week in these shoes for three months now, and they still feel great. They have just the right amount of cushioning and they never come un-tied. I have tried at least eight pairs of running shoes this year from all different manufacturers, and these are my favorite. I recently ran a marathon in them and the only thing that didn't ache when I was done was my feet. I love these shoes and have recommended them to many people.

Comments: Very comfortable. The most cushioned shoe that I run in. My only complaints:1) the elastic band over the midfoot -- wasted weight and doesn't really do anything; and 2) the very toe of the outsole is showing significant wear. I don't think that I'm going to get great mileage out of these shoes.

Comments: I've been testing running shoes for the past 8 months--12 pairs so far--and with each pair the latest seems to be the greatest. When I ran the Asics 2160 last month, I thought it the greatest shoes ever, until today, when I ran the Pure Flow. Wow! what are these people at Brooks putting in their coffee? Can any shoe be a better all around shoe? First thing that struck me was the cushion. It's cushier than the Glycerin, a tad more than the Adrenaline: those looking for absolute impact protection can save themselves money with this shoe. Whatever material is used is way better than the DNA thing they've been using. You can throw whatever mileage at it, it doesn't matter. Next was the uppers: it feels as unobtrusive as an aqua sock. It feels smooth, seamless, and transparent. This shoe is all about comfort.
That said, there are a couple of drawbacks (to me). The 3 pairs of Brooks shoes I have (Glycerin, Adrenaline, and these Flow's), seem to be slow shoes. I bought all these shoes in conjunction with the comparable Asics models; and, while the Asics have quick transitions, the Brooks roll slower. They are smoother and thus more comfortable, but they also have me striking more heelward. Whereas, with the Asics I find myself more towards the forefoot, I think just to keep up with the shoe. So, the Asics are faster, but the Brooks more comfortable.
One oddity: I bought the Asics Sky Speed trainers in conjunction for comparison, and while the Flow is supposed to be about an ounce lighter, it feels heavier. I think this may have to due with the wider platform and thicker sole of this shoe.

Comments: I'm 6', 150 lbs. PureFlows seem to last me about 500 miles. I've learned about myself that there can no in-between, in terms of running footwear; I either need to be barefoot or in a cushioned shoe. To wear FiveFingers or sandals is to beg for metatarsal irritation. I'm convinced that my form in minimalist footwear is nearly identical to barefoot, but my "landing surface"--the portable surface bound to my foot--is more repetitive and unyielding in sandals, rubber-soledmoccasins, or VFFs, exaggerating my Morton's foot (shortened first metatarsal, and tendency for the second metatarsal to bear more than its natural load). Barefoot, I experience some irritation, but can run 40+-mile weeks without significant issue. Unfortunately, A) winters in Nebraska are prohibitively cold to barefoot running, and B) I run most of my miles on crushed limestone, which some people can handle barefoot, but not me. Enter the Brooks PureFlow. For several months, I used the Altra Instinct--also a great shoe--but the PureFlow, while not as anatomical in the toebox, is wider at the heel. (I don't understand why all minimalist shoes seem to have a ridiculously narrow heel/midfoot). Also the PureFlow cushioning seems to last longer than does the A-bound material in the Instincts. Sadly, in my experience, one disadvantage of using a cushioned shoe--even if you're fairly well adapted to true minimalist shoes or barefoot running--is that you still need to replace the shoe when the
cushioning stops doing its work. There comes a point when your forefoot starts to feel bashed up: not just because you're landing harder, though you probably are, but because you're touching down in an unnatural, compressed "valley." That takes a while to happen in the PureFlows. I've been wearing them almost exclusively for months, running 50+ mpw, and only after 500 miles have my feet started to get that "banged around" feeling. Excited to try the True Grit for the trails, if it fits similarly. The Flow is okay on trails, but a little too tall, in terms of stack height. Hard on the ankles. Good job, Brooks! Now come out with widths!

Comments: I'm in agreement with the previous comments regarding the fit of this shoe, fit and feel is definitely top notch! I'm 6'1" and 158 lbs, with a mild over-pronation, and somewhat narrow feet. I was impressed immediately when I laced these up, they hold the arch area nicely as well as the heel. Liner material is also very nice. The shoe seems firm yet adequately cushioned considering it's low profile. The shoe also has nice flexibility. My problem was with the oval shaped pod on the sole, its placement mid-foot, lateral side caused me to over-pronate more than usual leading to achilles & ankle pain after a couple of 6 -7 milers.

Comments: Great fit and super light. I live in a hilly area, so your hamstrings and calves will need a slight adjustment to get used to the shoe. It is worth the transition though! They fit so well that I really almost can't tell I have shoes on. Drainage is good for your wet runs, laces seemed to stay tied and they feel really solid. I may try the Pure-Grit in the summer, if the fit is similar.

Comments: Great shoe. I'm 6', 203 lbs, and they feel awesome. I use the on my long runs, and right now, they are my favorite shoe for my first 1/2 marathon. I normally wear 11 but jumped up to a 12 with these. Lots of toe room!
