Comments: Great grip on wet and dry ground and all kind of surfaces. Not that comfortable on asphalt - but that's not what they were designed for. Not much of a chance of bruising because of the substantial rock plate (but the shoes are not very flexible as a result - at least compared to others). Heel cutout is very, very low - at least on my foot, that leads to heel slippage even if I lace lock. Haven't found that to be a problem though. The one real negative in my book: they run HOT! So much so that I don't want to wear them if the temperature is above 50. And once they are soaked with sweat, they don't drain well...and as a result, end up being much heavier 10 miles in than they were at the start. Might not be an issue for you if you don't sweat much...

Comments: I bought these shoes 10 days before running the Firetrails 50 (my first ultra). I was concerned about wearing a new shoe on a long run like that. Not only did I finish, but my feet were feeling great. I had no blisters and no black toe nails. I think these are an awesome pair of shoes. The shoes do not have any support, but I cinch down the the laces. This held my feet in the shoe very nicely. I had no problems with bruises because of rocks or anything. I could recommend these shoes to anyone interested.

Comments: I took the 255 Trailroc to a 20 mile run in Joshua Tree national park by the mojave desert and I was amazed how it performed on rugged terrain. Despite I am used to the 4mm drop of the Salomon Sense and its light weight, the trailroc likes to go fast as well. Its very forgiving towards sharp rocks and I just breeze thru them with ease. I love the phenomenal grip the outsole exhibits towards very loose, sandy and muddy trail. The MetaFLEX actually makes the shoes very flexible and easy to run on midfoot/forefoot despite being smoked during uphill and through fatigue by the miles my legs were in. I bought this as training shoe for the Salomon Sense and surprisingly it amazed me even at the first time I ran with it. It seemed to me that I dont need to break it in and my feet just readily adapt to them. INOV8 really stresses out on its workmanship and I would take their shoes any day even sundays than the new balance minimus. The uppermesh is designed so well that I never felt any debris inside my shoes. No hot spots felt despite the gnarly downhill. It feels a little heavy but since it promotes natural running, it still feels fast.I would definitely recommend this shoes.
