Comments: I am a road guy who averages 40-50mpw year round and a bit more during marathon season. I decided I wanted to try a trail ultra so I signed up for a 50 mile trail ultra in the hill country of Texas. I ordered these on a Monday and got them on Wednesday. Tried them on and wore them to the grocery store to get some supplies for the race then packed them in the bag. Race day started at 5am and rain started about 5:15 and continued to do so for the next 30 miles. I did have a sock issue that required a change at mile 10. However the shoes performed fantastic. The trail was muddy in many places and many technical ascents and descents on rocky trails. I had good traction on both wet rocks and muddy trails. I had plenty of support and traction to get my first 50mi finish. They are a bit stiffer and beefier than I normally wear (on the road) so may try something a bit sleeker next time but have zero complaints on these shoes. They do run small. I normally wear a 9 w hich is a 42 EU but had to get the 42.5EU and fit well. If they used a star system they are a 5 star shoe.

Comments: My favorite Mtn shoe by far! Got them 1 month before TRT100 and the transition was easy,(previously in the pearl izumi n2 which i like but doesn't have enough protection). I have not found a better shoe for difficult, rocky, and loose/slippery trails. I ran all of TRT(22:35) in them and feet came through perfect. You will not be disappointed. I now have almost 500 miles on them and they have half life left. They protect your feet and keep you upright. Roomy toe box, good cushioning for long miles, support when your feet are tired, they use the sticky climbing shoe rubber that grips(RAPTOR!) I have a very average foot shape and size (10.5, 44eur) peak season mileage 90mi/week
