Comments: Ouch. That's about all I can say at this point. I love my MT110s but I do a lot of mixed surface running. With winter approaching here in California I thought I'd find a trail shoe closer to the pair of Salomon XR Mission road-to-trail I wore last winter through the snow in Calgary, but with a smaller drop. So I picked the Mix Master - 4mm drop, fit reportedly like the MT110s, waterproof and spiky. And I just don't like them so far, at all, after only 20 miles. Everything hurts. They don't make me run fast. My feet feel tighter in the mid-foot than in any other shoe I've got, road or trail, and the entire shoe seems significantly stiffer than a running shoe should, to the point where I feel like I'm wearing carbon-fiber armor. Oh, and they're loud: I'm a mid- to forefoot striker and you couldn't sneak up on a garbage truck with these things. I'll keep trying to see if there's some odd coincidences at play; technically, aside from the stiffness, they should be exactly right.
