Comments: These shoes run fairly narrow so I needed the D width. In the B width of the NB 980 trail the heel was so tight that it pulled my socks off. The D width does not seem to have the same issue. The shoes seem to fit a little differently as the 6.5 feels a little short but the 7 is much too long for my feet. This is a problem I've never had with NB before. They are highly cushioned with a quite low arch support (which my feet prefer). The outsoles have thick treads that provide lots of traction for any kind of trail or even road surface.

Comments: This is a very well-constructed trail and running shoe with excellent cushioning. I like the pink/grey and orange/black colors. I just had my second run in these on a treadmill, and my feet are very pleased that I bought these. The toe box could be wider as I have a wide foot, wearing a 9D, however, my feet are comfortable. They just do not have much wiggle room. Most importantly, I am able to wear an insole (for added cushioning) without having the shoe slip off my heel when I walk or run. Over the past 2-3 years, I had to purchase another brand because of this design issue in NB trail shoes concerning the heel-to-toe drop. I'm glad to be back with NB. Thank you, New Balance!
