Comments: Initially, I disliked the feel of this shoe, but after a short break-in period (just 10 mi), it has become one of the best shoes I've worn for long training runs. I still use the Nike Free Run 2, but the Free Run 2 feels too bulky and high in comparison... and I loved the Free Run 2. The ride of the Free Run 3 is a lot more responsive than the Free Run 2, yet more cushy if that makes sense. I believe this is due to the lower profile midsole. The tongue doesn't bother me as it always stays in place. Reducing the space in between the grooves of the outsole has prevented sticks and stones from getting caught in them. While I like the styling and color combinations of the the Free Run 2 more, the Free Run 3 is still a good looking shoe. Plus, looks don't matter as much to me as comfort and I am very comfortable in these shoes. This is a truly great training shoe and for me, an upgrade. Some info on me: narrow-to-normal foot, 6:30 pace for half-marathon, forefoot striker, and I use this shoe for training, but not for racing/uptempo runs.

Comments: I got the volt color, they look great. They are super comfortable but I am a little bit distracted by the iPod dock area. It seems the be noticeably different feeling than the other shoe. I wish the fom insert was more accurately designed. It's not like the shoe with it is uncomfortable but I am so picky about being symmetric and I don't use the nike+ feature. I never expected the insert to be so large. Still, overall, these are awesome, they really fit like a glove, and look cooler than any other running shoe I have seen. You can remove the top part of the iPod dock and it makes it a little bit better feeling.

Comments: I like Free Run+ 2s more on the condition there is no tongue sliding around while I am running. However, I did like the 5.0 v4 midsole, and the volt colorway looks nice.

Comments: Can't disagree more - I luv the return to the tongue and style of the 5.0 v4 - the bootie was an ill-conceived concept and suited none of the group I run with.

Comments: I absolutely love the 2, I sent the 3 back (and bought another pair of 2's). I don't know why they changed the no tongue, sock-like fit of the 2, which was perfect. The 3 is softer, and bouncier, and still feels like a Free, but the tongue and lace area needs to go back to something more like the 2.

Comments: The 3 feels more cushioned than the 2, but I still like the overall fit and ride of the 2 better. Adding the tongue was a mistake..
