Comments: This update is a huge improvement over the version 4 Streak. The uppers are incredibly comfortable, breathe/drain well and simply fit to your foot - holding the shoe solidly in place. The new version does away with the odd plastic material that was part of the version 4's uppers (located in the area of the arch) which was prone to split/rip within 100 miles of use. After a 5-mile race, half marathon, 10 mile race, and a 24 mile training run (testing them for an upcoming marathon), this appears to be the best Zoom Streak to date. It has more midsole/forefoot cushioning than the version 3's - similar but better balanced than the version 4. I'm looking forward to using this in my upcoming fall marathon (sub-2:40). I actually often train in Zoom Streaks throughout the week, so they do well in everyday training but are meant to be a flat. They are a lightweight shoe/flat with great mid/forefoot cushioning perfect for a mid-foot strike. The sole absorbs the impact but provides a nice level of road feel to allow you to run quickly and not lose energy due to too much cushion. These will serve someone chasing a 3-hour or faster marathon well.
