Saucony Guide 7 Men's Shoes Blue/Slime/Orange Customer feedback

Comments: The Guides are a step down in stability from the Omni, and consequently have a much softer, cushier, more flexible feel; while still offering a good amount of support for we pronators- without feeling heavy. They're a pleasure to have on your feet. I run 50+ mpw and have used these for 5K races as well as 20+ mile road runs. The cushion let me really stretch out and pound the pavement in high speed running, and the stability stayed with me for long runs. At 10oz they're not the lightest shoes out there, but for a go-to trainer, they're faster feeling than most. The sole is great for the road, but doesn't have the bite for softer trail surfaces. I'd prefer it to be a little more grippy, and wasn't overly impressed at its hold on wet asphalt. As Saucony has figured out- 8mm drop is a nice balance for a lot of runners; definitely the goldilocks zone of not too much, not too little. This is one of those 'crowd pleaser' shoes that a whole lot of people will just be happy with. In comparison to the Brooks Ravenna- which is in the same class of shoe, I've found the Ravenna to be equally as supportive in the heal area, but a bit moreso in the forefoot. Not quite as soft and flexible as the Guide, but a bit more 'shoe' under you and a more rugged tread. I see RunningWarehouse has the PearlIzumi M3 listed as a comparable shoe. I find that those have a very different, very flat feel. You'd want to try them on before assuming that they are very similar. I'm a 135lb mid-foot striker and flat footed pronator. I've got about 200 mi on the shoe, and while it doesn't appear very worn, and the cushion is still quite good, the stability is noticeably less than when new.

Comments: I am an employee of Dick's Sporting Goods, but these opinions are my own. I was given these shoes from the local Saucony rep and have been training in minimalist shoes (Newton MV3 primarily). I planned to wear them in store only, but liked their feel. I ran in them the past two days and honestly am surprised how much I enjoy them.
