Comments: Loved these for racing a half marathon. I gradually increased my running in lower drop shoes like the NB 730 and Altra Zero Drop Intuition before racing a half marathon in this style. I went up one half size in these compared with what I wear in the Saucony Mirage.

Comments: These are really great. In structure they are identical to last year's. That's the best thing. Second-best thing is the citron-and-magenta colorway. I may buy another pair while they're still available. I got rid of my last TypeA 5's when they had 200-300 miles on them, but I rather wish I'd held onto them, since they were good for at least another hundred. I found them particularly good for long mixed-surface runs. The radial-tire-like plate gives enough purchase for trail and asphalt without weighing you down. I am currently rotating among the TypeA 5, the Kinvara 3 and 4, the New Balance 1600, and some minimalist shoes. Only in comparison with the Kinvaras would I consider the TypeA 5 to be a lightweight racer; it's a middleweight all-purpose flat, so far as I am concerned. It gives more support and structure than the NB 1600 and minimalist shoes, but has a very flexible plate.

Comments: These shoes are not very good. They fall apart.

Comments: Bright, flexible and sturdy enough for long runs.  I've done 20 milers in these.  The curve of the shoe makes the toe box a little short on the lateral side but I'd buy another pair.
