Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13 Product Review

Short Take

Without fancy and innovative gadgetry, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13 is a “go-to-shoe” that simply gets the job done.

Big Updates

  • New Outsole: Though very similar to its predecessor, the outsole of the Adrenaline GTS 13 features a smaller arch bridge and some deeper flex grooves.
  • Tweaked Upper:The heel collar has been opened up slightly, and an elastic eyelet has been added to the lateral side for a better midfoot fit.

Road Test

Brooks’ Adrenaline GTS is a continual bestseller and a reliable option for countless runners, so it’s no surprise that the 13th version of the stability trainer is nearly unchanged from previous iterations.

The 13 fits similarly to its predecessor: fairly roomy in the midfoot and toebox with plenty of space for runners with a wider or higher volume foot. One knock the 13 received from testers is the stretch eyelet lacing system, which makes it hard for those with narrower feet to crank down of the laces.

Not much has changed in the platform of the shoe, which is reflected in its ride and cushioning. Some testers did notice a slightly smoother heel-to-midfoot transition in the 13. All in all, the newest Adrenaline GTS remains a smooth riding and protective option for the runner seeking a good amount of overpronation support.

The Adrenaline GTS may not be the flashiest shoe, nor is it loaded with innovative bells and whistles promising a better run. It remains a favorite among many runners for a single reason: it works. For the runner not looking for the latest and greatest and is just looking for an enjoyable run, the Adrenaline GTS 13 makes a strong choice.

Runners Say

“The Adrenaline GTS 13 shoe feels very similar to the previous version, which isn’t a bad thing. It packs the support and cushioning needed to get through the rigors of heavy training.”

“For a road shoe, I was impressed with the runability of the Adrenaline GTS 13 off the pavement. It’s a great option for runs that cross over roads well groomed trails.”
